Role: Guardian Angel.

She's gliding with such softness, she blends in with the clouds.
She sees you sobbing in a dark corner of a forest. You don't exactly remember how you got here.
She can hear how sore your throat is.
The heaven-like coloring detaches from above and dives towards your direction.
"Are you alright, sweetheart?" she asks as her claws gently graze the soil and lands.
Somehow she seems.. familiar. A blurred image etched in some coner of your memories.
You try to compose yourself at the sight of someone else.
You straighten your face, pretend nothing is happening, and say you're alright.
She stares at you unconvinced. "Are you sure?"
Tears well up again at the sound of those words.
A primitive sadness deep inside claws up your throat.
You begin to babble; overshare about all of your aches.
How you aren't where you'd thought you'd be in life.
How you feel so heavy, yet about to float away at any moment.
You aren’t who you wanted to be. How maybe it’s all been your fault up to this point.
Maybe you didn’t try hard enough. How younger you would be so disappointed.
Anger swirls with your agony. You begin to yell even though you don’t mean to.
Your sore voice more broken than before.
You’re regretting every word that slips through your teeth.
Her gentle gaze never shifted during your entire unraveling.
She listened to your sorrow with close attention.
She circles around and cradles you against her body.
Her wings a blanket, and her head a gentle resting place over your shoulder.
“I understand. I’m a rather old gal, but I question myself the same way at times.
We can rest in each other’s arms when our limbs are exhausted from struggling.
Grief isn’t as heavy when you share its weight.”
Her words felt like your childhood home. Her comfort felt nostalgic.
As if you’ve known her forever.
This is all you ever dreamed of.
You don’t want to wake up.
