"This coffee will warm you right up."

Pence loves everything about coffee - the warmth, the smell, the color. Though his parents hoped he would develop an interest in metalwork, his tastes lay elsewhere, so he left in search of a place to open a shop. During his journey he met Cupric, another young hatchling with a similar dream - he wanted to have his own pastry store. They decided to merge their dreams and open a coffee shop.

After looking at several locations, they chose Lantern Port in the territory of clan Prufrock to open their shop, called Copper Coffee. Pence was able to team up with local sommelier Nigh to develop a variety of brews unique to his shop.

One day he became enamored with a visiting customer, but she left before he could ask her name or where she was from. Thankfully a regular patron of theirs recognized her as a resident of his former clan and was able to give him directions as to how to find her. He learned her name was Laylan, and they corresponded with increasing frequency, writing each other lengthier and lengthier letters until finally Pence convinced her to move to Lantern Port and work in the coffee shop with him.

Many of the clan's residents enjoy flying or ferrying over from the island to visit the establishment, and several of Lantern Port's inhabitants are regulars. The lighthouse keeper Evrain is one of the latter, and she is often there on a date with the tundra thief Nathaniel. The coatl shopkeepers are careful to keep a close eye on the latter, though they worry less whenever some of the area's more martial dragons are present.
