LEVIATHAN
Lightning Incarnate

Younger brother of Behemoth. The brothers were raised in the Plague flight by Light and Lightning flight parents. They answer only to the clan leaders, Capacitor and Enthalpy, and spend much of their time working on various bits of experimental bio-mechanical machinery. Occasionally, they may be called in when the clan needs some co-ordinated heavy lifting on a project.

Fun Fact: The heaviest of Imperials weigh in around 9500kg, while the average is closer to 7500kg.

Project Leviathan

One of Behemoth and Leviathan's projects to increase a dragon's Lightning affinity by gene/mana manipulation. Early experiments were performed on Spirals hatched within the clan [see subject files: "Gallium" and "Selenium"] to successful results. The next subject was a spiral of Fire affinity [see subject file: "Philote"] who later was to prove that effects have a high rate of heredity in Offspring [see subject files: "Antimony" and "Arsenic"]. There has been insufficient data as to whether it is only a particularly high tolerance within this specific bloodline, however recent trials on an unrelated Spiral of Fire affinity [see subject file: "Nai"] indicated positive results. No comment on heredity in this case, as subject's only offspring were hatched before procedure was performed.

Leviathan himself was the first subject in the next phase of the project, scaling up the effects to Imperial breed size and checking the effects on dragons of Plague Affinity. The results were unexpectedly spectacular, owing either to the inherent adaptability of Plague dragons or the regenerative capabilities of the Imperial breed. Subject experienced a massive increase in density as flesh and bone took on the quality of a reflective crystalline substance. Additionally, Leviathan has also demonstrated previously unknown abilities of Instant Transmission over an expanding radius, Levitation for limited heights and time periods, and the ability to Phase through some forms of un-enchanted solid matter. Counter-intuitively, there has been no benefit in terms of combat ability. Subject experiences the same elemental weaknesses, and has furthermore reported an inability to use any type of elemental attack in combat.

The effects noted in subject Leviathan have thus far appeared not to be passed on through Offspring. Recent trials on an Imperial subject of Lightning Affinity [see project file: "Ionized"] have not exhibited such dramatic effects, and are instead approaching the parameters extrapolated from the earlier Spiral tests.
