Lore

The air and light that lay over this place both feel ancient. Sometimes, the sunlight catches the trees just right—and you’re walking into a painting of the past. Lush, rolling hills give way to gray-white cliffs beside a roaring blue ocean. Here, there are no lanterns. Natural observing decks cling to the peaks.

While the hills are a beauty in themselves—sprouting purple violets and clover in spring, turning auburn in fall—the true beauty lies in the valley beneath the cliffs. There, time slows down. Raindrops take forever to fall from the maple leaves into the ponds.

There is a temple to every last deity here, hidden within secretive nooks, in the silken shadows cast by the maple trees. The largest temple is to the Arcanist, and the gleaming sculpture is adorned by pink sapphires.

To the patient traveler who takes their time wending through the bridge paths, unique architecture reveals itself. Lacquered wood. The colors of fall. Each temple and pavilion seems sculpted almost from air, as if it will fall over at the slightest puff of wind. But obviously, this isn’t so. Pain runs deep in the dragons around these parts—so deep that it is silent. The buildings and the dragons here possess an interminable vein of toughness.

It is hardly surprising that such beautiful territory, rich in arable farmland, luscious foliage and fish ponds that restock themselves, has a long history of changing hands. The new princess is intent on recreating a land of peace for her subjects, but one name lingers on lips: Steele.

Somewhere, the dark baron is imprisoned. But no one knows where—and no one wants to.
