The original inhabitants of clan ******* stood on the very soil now desecrated by the countless sites of testing throughout its onerous history. For how long they have endured the occupying forces, has not been fully investigated. The grounds' primary purpose has yet to be publicly declassified. The original indigenous species and strain of the creatures has not been subject to documentation after the expulsion and subsequent mass exodus of beasts and dragonkind alike from the area's premises. Thus, the original strain of the species has long received exposure to the pathogens both biological, chemical and nano-technologically applied. The site's recent reconstruction counts the forgotten members of the originating native clan and introduction of species from disparate experiments. The haphazard condition of the conduction of the testing site has introduced new strains and subspecies which has transmutated the hosts beyond normative classification of dragonkind. Such atypical beings are contained for observational and experimental research and testing. Native hosts are derived from pathogen treatment complexes within Wasteland itself. The originating site was developed exclusively for specialised containment regions, specifically for dispatch between Wasteland's client facilities. Invasive hosts, heretofore referred to as 'subjects' as per Expanse terminology, can be traced from the failed Lightning Commission after its formal dissolution and incidental withdrawal from its suppliers. The closure was cited to be undertaken on the grounds of the resulting project being deemed an "abject failure" by Commission authorities. Disagreements over differences in logistic failures, questionable ethics, but chiefly procedural tactics were noted to cause friction between the factions, ultimately resulting in their divergence. Analysts conclude the opposing definitions of success for Wasteland and Expanse promoted provision within their dovetailing collaboration as Wasteland requested Expanse Labs' "failures" and the reverse in exchange for data analysis and information sharing.
