The Agreement
Lichen was once a member of Aupheling's clan. However, one day the clan was contacted about him by an outsider from the clan of Dreamweave. The clan wished to obtain a child of Lichen's between him and Fern, a stranger from another clan. They offered to trade compensation in exchange for a specific child that could be produced from the pairing between Lichen and the stranger. A trade agreement was reached and Lichen traveled to the clan of Dreamweave with the stranger, and then again traveled to a plague clan to lay the nest that could produce the child the clan of Dreamweave was seeking. The nest hatched and Litchen returned to Dreamweave with the desired child and the rest of the new family. But alas, the cheer was not to last.

The Wait
Days passed as word was sent back to the clan of Aupheling about the success of the nest. Lichen's mate returned to their own lair with some of their hatchlings. The desired child was dubbed Dustdevil and Lichen watched with pride as she was bestowed with new genes and a loving mate. Weeks passed without response, and another letter was sent to the clan of Aupheling about Lichen's return. Word was finally received back! The clan was happy that the nest was successful, and said they would be ready to have Lichen back once some new hatchlings were moved out of the lair. Lichen couldn't wait to go back home again.

The Complication
Soon after receiving a response but no transport agreement from his clan, Lichen decided to return to his lair on his own. When he got there, he found his old clan grounds deserted. No one was there, and there was no trace of recent activity. Not knowing what else to do, Lichen returned to clan Dreamweave. Weeks turned to months, months into over a year. Lichen returned many times to his old lair in hope that his clan would return, but each time there was nothing. His child, Dustdevil, has had many nests of her own in that time, and Lichen has seen many of his grandchildren off to their own homes. Still he waits to return to his.

The Future
The members of Dreamweave were kind to him during his stay, but Lichen knew this was not his home. And so, on the first day of the new holiday, Drakeharvest, he has begun training to prepare himself for his new quest. His quest to find another clan. A clan to love and cherish him. A clan to call home... Won't someone give him a new home?
