D R E A M W O R K S


She was floating. She existed, yet she did not. She was a dream, alive and breathing. But when she tried to breathe fire, like dragons do, only a strong gust of wind came out. Strange. She must be dreaming. But wasn't she the dream? She tried again, and fire blazed. She instantly knew she was a wind dragon, and that she could not breathe fire unless she was dreaming. If she was dreaming and aware of it, and could do what she thought she could do, that meant she was walking the true Dreamwork, the unlimited land. Here, she was invincible and her thought was law.

The landscape stretched endless. Rolling hills and clusters of trees. She took to the skies and the earth below her disappeared. It became night and a world of twinkling stars surrounded her. She could hear them sing. She looked down at the Windswept Pateu of her dreams. The hills was a pastel green and the waves on it's shore pastel blue.

She soared higher. The world lay beneath her, stretched out. But it was not flat, as she was told. She knew it was round, for she had flown higher than any other in the waking world, and had seen the horizon curve. It curved beneath her now in the Dreamwork, and she took up the challenge. This time she would get around the whole sphere before morning woke her up. The race was on again.
