They say you can't judge a book by its cover. In this case though, your assumptions wouldn't be far off.

Toxin, unlike Whirlwind, managed to actually get herself kicked out of her former clan. Her older siblings had nearly been exalted anyways, so her parents had no problem sending her off to the fate the others had escaped.
However, something went wrong. She managed to fly off and save herself from being exalted. She simply flew south and no one tried to follow her.

She would soon discover the reason why.

The tangled woods was a place rumoured to be where all the dark sinister dragons lived. She hadn't really cared for these rumours, but she could now see where they were coming from.

"This place looks awesome!"

The original excitement of maybe being able to start her own clan had soon dissapeared, as she realized something - she couldn't hunt.

Not so much panicked though, she decided she would have to make do on her own for the night. She was able to catch some insects to satisfy her. The fact her clan had tried to send her off might have been a good thing, but she would never forget that they tried.
Would a clan here do such a thing? What if the rumours are true?

The next day would hold some answers for her, upon awakening, a pink spiral was there.
"Who are you?"
This was the only dragon she had seen since she had left. Left to become an exalt.
"Are you going to send me to the Shadowbinder?"
She was pretty sure that was how it worked, you got sent off to the ruling deity of the land you were in.
The other spiral shook her head.
"Of course not, we're you scared I would?"
She paused. She couldn't let this dragon know. She couldn't let this dragon know what she had escaped. Realizing that no one knew who she was, she decided that maybe she could make her impression on this dragon.

"Of course I'm not scared. I'm just making sure I wouldn't have to fight."
Where had that come from? She wasn't sure about her lie, but decided to go with it. The other dragon simply smiled.
"Fight? I'm sure you are very capable, but no, I'm telling you that I'm not sending you anywhere except your clan. You are awfully young to be out alone, and your clan is probably worried."
I really doubt they are.
"I... Uh decided to leave them to start an adventure!"
"That was something I tried out once. I was older than you too. If you don't have a clan, than perhaps you could stay with mine. There is another hatchling there too."

Although this was another lie, she simply said, "By the way, my name is Toxn."

She decided it might be alright to give a trial run, and test this place out. It was alright, but she found Whirlwind, the other hatchling could be annoying, and was so much taller. Whirlwind Keats trying to talk to her, she kept avoiding. Finally, she let him speak.

"I just wanted to say that um, well -"
"Spit it out or go away."
"I think you're pretty great."

That was unexpected to her. Someone actually thought she was great. When they would have three eggs that would soon be hatchlings, she went over to talk to Whirlwind.
"Just know that I won't be their mother figure."
He said he understood, but in reality she didn't think so. So she waited to see when they hatchlings would be born, to see who they reflected, to see -

"I know they might not be the nicest looking but they have their own qualities I'm sure."
The hatchlings looked like they were all slightly disfigured. While her youngest two she could live with, her eldest son...
"No. You know what I said earlier, and I'm saying it again now."
"You won't even name them?"
She really didn't want to, but glancing over to her daughter, a pearlcatchers who seemed to have inherited traits of the two of them, she answered, "Her name is Lilli. Don't ask why."
Glancing over to the second spiral, she looked at him. His colours were alright, but she didn't know what to name them, and forget about the first child.
"I'm still deciding."

Nicknamed Eyeburn and Umbra, she had yet to find a name for either dragon. Things were worse when her daughter had started to hide and wouldn't come out. After confronting her, she watched as Lillli ran away, heading north. North potentially to the place she had been born.
Like mother like daughter. Except she ran to the place I left.
After witnessing that, she knew other two needed names.

"Aimless and Overcast."
"What kind of names are those?"
Whirlwind had been waiting for the names, but was protesting them now that she had found them.
"Overcast, for the colour of his body. I'm named after a wing gene, he can be named after that. And Aimless I think you can guess why."
