Near Shadow's border with the Sea lies the ruins of a Second Age cathedral. No one knows to who it was dedicated, but it now is the source of local rumors. Many have reported vanishing figures, specters, and unnamed horrors lurking near the old sanctum, and many that journey to it vanish. Due to this, it has gained the name of the Abyssal Sanctum, and the territory around it is considered home to unknown creatures that are hostile to outsiders. Some speculate that it may be an isolationist clan that started and feature in these tales, but no one has spoken up to prove or disprove the theory. Only the few who made contact and returned could tell you what resides at the Abyssal Sanctum.

A home to beasts and monsters, the Abyssal Sanctum is the lair of a relatively new clan. All its members are creatures that have taken on the form of dragons for various reasons, and they all have a low tolerance for intruders and upstarts. This goes doubly so for any that manage to rile up their leader, who has a hair-trigger temper on her best days. Despite the ease it takes to gain the clan's hostility, they are content with the territory they have and will not bother anyone that doesn't try to take what's theirs. This coupled with their isolationist nature has gained them their reputation as a veritable myth. They actually quite like the fact that their existence is debatable to most other beings and do little to dispel the murky shadows that shroud them.

After all, they are but dust and shadow.

I just saw Celephais on a forum thread and actually recoiled and hissed "JAYYYYSSUUUSSSS!" so uh... grats on the INCREDIBLY spooky fae. Dat's one creepy dragon.
