Biography

ARC
Clan Role
{A • B • C }

A traveller at heart, Arc is forever on the move. He is a passing acquaintance of Galatea, having met on the Shifting Expanse some years ago. This hardy, good-natured bogsneak often passes through Etherlight bringing supplies and items of interest, acting as both merchant and messenger for the clan during his visits; he is a peddler of knowledge and wares alike.

He is accompanied on his travels by a small airborne golem he found broken on the desert wastes, claiming to have repaired it himself back to working condition--with a little help from Galatea, and a large part through years of experience in tinkering with old technology himself. He calls the little machine Fen, and he often uses it (or "her") to scout regions by air or to investigate out-of-reach regions - and clans - on his behalf, being much more inconspicuous a figure then he is.

Fen is also an essential component of Arc's very life. Arc is heavily augmented with cybernetics, but they are of such outdated design that their energy capacity is but a shadow of its former self. Fen acts like a battery for him, channeling energy from her own body into his augments, keeping him energised; they need recharged semi-frequently, running for only a few days on their own reserves. This is no problem for the little golem, who gathers such vast amounts of power through the electric energy in the atmosphere of the Expanse that there is always some to spare. Without her aid, Arc's energy would slowly fade, his body would slow, and eventually he would enter a hibernation alike to death, requiring an exceptionally talented engineer to repair and recover him -- and that is a rare find at the best of times. So to avoid this grim end, the bogsneak keeps his companion close - and she can often be seen happily perching on his wings or shoulders during their travels.
