Freshwater's Clan

As most are already aware of, over the past decade mermaids were formerly considered an invasive species and almost completely wiped out by the general public in an effort to save the natural saltwater ecosystems affected by these apex predators. However, we at DuaTail Corp. feel to lose them entirely would be to lose a valuable and overlooked race.

DuaTail Corp. caters towards learning as much as we can about these now-elusive creatures from fieldwork studies and publishing our findings. Though not everyone may agree with our choices to preserve such beings due to the previous havoc wreaked, we are still offering to remove mermaids from the wild just like anyone else, simply under less egregious conditions. The way we see it, blind hatred is less likely to linger in the general populace's mind as time goes on if they are educated on how the species actually works.

Aside from research, DuaTail Corp. would like to cordially invite any neighboring mermaids to consider our valid proposal of sanctuary, where aquatic individuals can be offered a secure position of employment within the company alongside our land-dwelling scientists, or at the very least allowed to live out their days in a fabricated environmental setting right here in our laboratories! At DuaTail Corp., we have no intentions of letting the endangered mermaid population slip away completely, and we do our best to provide an enriching experience with seldom interference, as if they were living out a natural life in the wild. *

Due to the increasing weakness of progenitorial gene lines in wild mermaids, we are also looking for willing volunteers to provide DNA samples for genetic hybridization experiments.

Though there will be egg caretaker opportunities one can apply for here at DuaTail Corp., there is not much we can currently do for skyrocketing mermaid infertility rates. Any viable eggs will be intently looked after of course, but we cannot guarantee their survival to hatch day.

In light of these failures, we are delving into methods of gene splicing! DNA samples of two individuals will be artificially combined in hopes of producing a stronger, more diverse gene pool for future progeny, rather than leaving it up to a single individual's natural way of parthenogenesis to produce offspring.
