L o r e The geothermal caves that surround the foothills of the Cloudscape Crags have long been rumored to possess certain valuable qualities. All across Sorineth, dubiously sourced tales of the miracles that rewarded those willing to brave the arduous trek were shared. Lifespans extended, diseases cured, injuries healed; anything was possible with enough bravery or desperation. It was only after the local wildlife began exhibiting strange, magic-induced mutations that these claims were considered anything but tall tales. |
| A research party was sent from Arcane, and it was them who found that the number of growth rings in the area's trees indicated a higher lifespan than what would typically be expected. After this, news began to spread, and others were enticed to make the trip. Some were aspiring mages excited by the area's potential magical energy, while others were simply looking to get themselves as far away from their old lives as possible. Dragons from all walks of life settled here, and the rocky cave system with its mysterious thermal vents grew into a sort of informal community. Even decades later, with the discovery's novelty having worn off and it's mysteries yet to be solved, the thermal caves continue to fascinate. |
