I have finally found my old belongings and so I may write once more. My name is Salem and I have no clear thought of how I arrived on this island. One moment I was in my humble cabin in the forests of Calerium, practicing my spells, then the unthinkable. A spell gone wrong, a earthquake, and if memory serves, a fissure swallowing me and my cabin whole. To say I and my research is undamaged would be a lie, yet there are many other things on this island to research.
To begin, the beasts of this land are nothing like what I am used to. Dragons had been extinct for many a decade from my home world, yet here it seems to be the crowning populous.
