Sanity. It’s a thing all dragons have when born. For the most part…What if some…per chance…lacked this? What if he didn’t think like dragons like him did? Meet Beastling, a dragon that doesn’t think. He was born to a nature flight, leaving him with deep green eyes. As his parents found, he tried to bite them, tried to attack them. They did not know what to do with him so they did the only thing they could. They put him for sale in hopes a clan who could save him from whatever left him a shell of a dragon. He one day however escaped, and went into the deepest and most wild part of the nature flight. He was quick to make his presence known, beast clans never even coming near him.

Beastling was always a dangerous dragon, but when he grew up, he became even more of a problem. Clans always sent dragons to slay him, since he had scared away their food. They never ever came back, Beastling sometimes used parts of other dragons to decorate himself. Soon, he didn’t even look like a dragon. He became such a problem, one day a humble mage was sent to bring him down. She was a kind tundra female, and for once Beastling felt someone besides the need to kill. Thus he captured her instead. This confused the tundra, whose magic was best at making one sleep.

Beastling often brought her birds, most of which she rejected since she tried to tell him she ate plants. The tundra didn’t seem to get this, till she finally started to eat around him, the plants around his lair. The beast found her odd, and often mimicked the sounds she made. Due to this the only real dragon words he knew were No, Personal Space, and Good Boy. The tundra soon tried to leave, but this angered Beastling, so much so he tried to claw at her, thankfully missing. Instead he knocked down a tree. The tundra finally got him to learn one more thing, her name. She than tried to teach him words. Sadly she would learn he lacked basic intelligence and was no more smarter than a wild beast clan member.

The tundra than made up her mind, for deep down she had grown to maybe love him, and she used her magic on him, knocking the wild tundra out. He woke up in a jail cell, which lead him to loudly roar, bite at the cages, and attack anyone who came near. He often at night however would whimper a little, missing the female tundra very much. One day she came and the tundra in his crazy mind couldn’t help but purr. She looked rather tired, her fur messy. Before she could go near him the darker dragon who worked there, an imp by the name Gatekeeper told her she should be careful. She shoved past him and tiredly sat by Beastling.

Beastling, not knowing much, tilted his head at her. She explained how the clan would let him stay, but he wouldn’t be allowed out without a leash. The male however, understood none of this, and just simply nuzzled her and started to groom her fur for her. She chuckled tiredly and soon dozed off, waking to her fur fully groomed. Beastling pushed his face to the bars, looking at her with begging eyes. Finally she let him out, but on a leash. He often would try to maul any dragon who went near him, except the leader who when he even tried to snarl at her, got a sever slash of her claws.

Sadly Beastling will never be a full member of the clan since only the leader and his “mate” are safe from his random killer attacks. He must always remain in the jails, and if he ever wants to come out, it must be on a steel leash, bolting him to the ground so he can’t attack anyone who comes near him. As sad as this fate seems, the tundra doesn’t seem to care, he has all the food he needs a kind mate and shelter. He is only ever allowed off if a very dire attack happens, since he would easily be one of the strongest “warriors” in the clan. He does know some commands thought. Sit, attack, stay, and down.

beautiful story written by DemonKid

One day an energy rush overcame him, he freed himself from his cage and run into the darkness of the night. Running endlessly, he only stops now and then, mostly to eat or just lacerate his prey into tiny pieces, before leaving it like this, searching for another. The snow got deeper and the weather colder the closer he gets to the south. Beastling stopped in his tracks.
His eyes focused on his new pray: An Imperial and a Pearlcatcher sitting next to each other. Beastling jumped forward, but in the same moment a deadly aura spread out, seemingly coming from the Imperial. The Tundra shortly seemed overwhelmed by the threatening feeling, but attacked anyhow.

With a smack he suddenly bounced off of a kind of shield, protecting both. After a few seconds many dragons emerged. They circled him like a wall, but that did not impress him. He lunged forward a second time now finding him fighting with a Wildclaw, larger than. Suddenly he couldn’t see anything. The whole area was bathed in light.

He just remembering waking up weeks later and recognized that most of himself was gone …
Behaving like a wild animal as before but his urge to kill was limited now. Running to a little lake he couldn’t see himself in the water. The Tundra … Well no the Wildclaw was staring at his own face, yet bewildered if it was truly him.

Beastling was welcomed in the Frozen Realm, but tending to be a lone wolf like in his own days, sometimes bringing some of his pray to the clan. He was thinking about going back to Jenna, but as much as he liked her, he loves his newly won freedom without a cage even more and somewhere in his heart he knows that she was no longer in this world . . .

I bought him on the 13th of April 2018 for 25'000t from DemonKid.
