The Light Spirit |
 Born in the heart of the Cloudsong to a Nocturne father and a Pearlcatcher mother, everyone agreed that Jaivyn would be quite the beauty as his parents were known for producing good-looking children. Though he took after his mother in species, Jaivyn proved that he also inherited his father's laid back temperament and talent for mimicry. While he would never be as flawless at copying someone's voice down to the pitch and tone as a Nocturne, his impersonations are convincing. His talents also allow him to step into another's shoes, as the saying goes. Jaivyn can make accurate deductions of another dragon's personality or habits through watching their mannerisms closely and mimicking them. Thankfully, Jaivyn is compassionate and does not use his gift towards malicious purposes. Instead, he is very popular at gatherings or parties when he entertains guests with his impressions of them. Like most Wind Dragons, Jaivyn has an open and personable nature. He always seems to have a smile on his face, and true to his name (which means Light Spirit) Jaivyn tries his best to light up the lives of those that he meets with fun and laughter. When he came of age, his mother was reluctant for him to leave home and gifted him with both the Windbound Mask and a Map Kit so that he would always be able to remember the Windsinger's lands and chart his many adventures as well. He has an enchanted compass that comes with the Map Kit which will always point him back to the Cloudsong. Whenever Jaivyn is sad or feeling homesick, this compass is one of the things he turns to for comfort. Jaivyn ended up in the frozen lands of the Icewarden due to a coin toss. He does not regret going South instead of Dragonhome as he had initially intended as the Southern Icefield is more beautiful than he has ever imagined it to be. Even though Jaivyn is not prone to the vanity of the Pearlcatchers, he does like the way the cold light hits his fractal wings to make a play of rainbows on the white snow. He uses this to entertain the hatchlings of the Clan who are very fond of him. Is sometimes too shy to express how much he wants to be closer to Zephyr and his friends, Percival and Dylas. The trio always look to be having fun, and while Jaivyn would like to share in their adventures, he does not want to intrude. Jaivyn finds Zephyr's creativity very admirable. The Coatl inspires him, and he has started to show his blueprints for different inventions to Kuu when he helps her take care of the Clan's hatchlings. Even though he is new to the Clan, Jaivyn has decided to call it home. He is fond of the hatchlings and how they respond to him and looks up to both Kuu and Zephyr, aspiring to both caring and creative as they are.

~~~~ Greeting the dawn had become routine since he had settled into the Clan. Jaivyn counts himself very lucky that he had come across such a welcoming group of dragons here in the Snowsquall Tundra. Even though he had been made to understand that this area did not reflect the harshness of the Icewarden's realm, Jaivyn felt content to admire its sparse and contradictory beauty. Perhaps his childhood on the Cloudsong had made him tired of extremes, and so he had taken to the gentle landscape that now surrounded him with ease. It certainly helped that he had formed friendships with both Zephyr and Kuu and the thought of those two dragons brought a little smile to his face. Surely the Windsinger had grinned an impish grin upon his endeavors when he had sent that gust to blow during that fateful coin toss that would lead him here. Jaivyn did not think that he'd be half as happy if he had ended up in Dragonhome. As he trotted out of his humble little hut intent on starting on his chores for the day, Jaivyn spread his wings with the dawn. His parents had named him for Light, and such a moniker had served him well. Jaivyn had always been an expert on how to bring cheer to someone's life, but that wasn't the only reason why some would associate him with Light Spirits. The growing rays of the dawn was caught and refracted by his outspread wings, sending a play of rainbow colors over the white flawless snow. Kuu had once told him that this reminded her of the Borealis that sometimes appeared in the frozen night sky and Jaivyn was happy that he could pay tribute to the Icewarden in this small way. Walking to the back of the hut, he stopped as he heard a little giggle and without thinking echoed it, managing to mimic the high pitched and merry sound perfectly. "I hear you Little One." The comment seemed to amuse his spy further, and a young Spiral tumbled out of the trees. "Come join us Jaivyn. Kuu's making breakfast!" "Is she? Well, let's not keep her waiting." The Governess in question was famed for her culinary skills, and Jaivyn looked forward to a warm meal shared with friends and loved ones. The little Spiral settled on his back, and as they chatted on about what they were going to do today, Jaivyn decided that luck and the Windsinger had been on his side when they had guided him here.
