Ursid's Clan

The Shrieking Wilds are a disquieting place.

Put a foot wrong in the unending gloom, and you might find yourself face to face with an angry, trodden-on snake, or a rat the size of a boulder. You wouldn't know it was there until it was right in front of you either, for the tangled, inter-twining tree branches above ensure that the light is at its dimmest in this untamed and forbidding forest.
But if you were to boldly press on into the heart of the Wilds, you'd eventually find a little clearing, where the winding vines have clearly been cut back by someone, and flowers have been planted. Here is the House of the Treecreeper Clan. At least, it's used as a house.
A strange (and more than slightly comical) blunder made by a mage long ago caused this house to be. Once, it was a bottle. A plain, glass bottle, half-buried sideways in the earth, presumably left by some traveller. When passing through the Shrieking Wilds in search of a home, the Clan's mage had attempted a spell to draw the bottle from the earth, in case it contained anything of interest. But instead, in the blink of an eye, it had grown to enormous proportions. A bottle the size of a Great Hall - and that is what it became, to the Treecreepers.
The comforting, flickering light of candles from within, light up the surrounding jungle at night. They are not needed during the day, for it seems that here is the only place the trees allow a little light through, which shines on the flowerbeds which run around the edges of the House.
Often can be heard song and cheer from inside the house (or outside on sunny days), for the Treecreepers are musicians - the only musicians for miles around here (not counting the chirruping, churring creatures of the jungle).
