Our Story

The word "earth" can have very different operational definitions depending on which field you associate it with. It can mean the third planet from the Sun in the Solar System, it can mean one of the four Greek classical elements or one of the five in Chinese philosophy. Many literary works have been named after and dedicated to earth in all of its numerous contexts. Music has been written about it, songs have been sung, films and fine art have been made.

We define earth in the context of one of the four great giants that created this world, along with fire, air, and water. Earth, to us, represents many things, both literal and metaphorical. The scientific and logical dragons of us choose to associate earth with qualities of heaviness, of matter, and anything of the terrestrial world. Those more prone to magic and philosophy see earth associated with the sensual aspects of both life and death, forming an occultism-like following of the teachings and lessons that the earth gives to us about the before and the after.

Certain personality traits are illuminated under the elemental alignment of Earth. These traits are highly admirable to us and we seek to emulate them with depth each and every day: Patience, Thoughtfulness, Practicality, Hard Work, and Stability. We seek to be nurturing to those in need, and our core values are Harmony in times of discord, Rootedness in our family and our heritage, and Stability in times of turmoil.

Our Clan's colors are yellow, orange, beige, and brown. The beasts we have chosen to represent our Clan are the cat and the owl: the cat, for its even-temperedness and command, the owl, for its eloquence and intelligence.
