There was no doubt that Sornieth had been scarred by the relentless assaults of the Shade. The land had been sickened by the darkness, and so for the majority of the 11 flights, their efforts were focused on reparation.

The arcanist knew better. The heavens had been rent asunder, shattered by the shadowy opponent. But there was only so much he could do. Even as his eyes wandered heavensward, the Arcanist knew that his place was on his shattered home of Sornieth.

But he could not simply let the cosmos suffer alone.

While his disciples, both those that were born under him and those that flocked to his side, were devoted to his desire for knowledge, they did not understand the Arcanist’s need to heal the heavens.

And then she arrived.
