For anyone who's wondering, The Night of the Nocturne 2018 will start at 06:00 server time on December 23.






















Rain roared outside as shadows began to descend on a large nest. Nothing could be heard save the whimpering of a small dragon. A combination of water and tears streamed down the baby's snout as thunder approached. Soon, the loud cracks were only a few seconds apart and lightning was becoming more like starting at the sun for a quick second. A voice familiar to the hatchling yelled out,
"Quick, bring the leaves. We can't have our baby unprotected in this storm, it'll be too much. She may look strong but Sodalite just isn't."
The tiny Guardian dragon chirped at her name then continued to do so for her mother. The ice colored dragon then came around the corner, and Sodalite saw just a sliver of fear before the usual smile dawned on her mom's face. Behind Sodalite's mother was her father with leaves dawned on her back. They lay the leaves over Sodalite, curled up next to her, and she soon fell asleep.

When Sodalite peeked open her eye the sun had finally started to peak out of the clouds, like hope out of darkness. Her mother and father were already awake and smelling for food in the rain.
"Nothing, all they prey must be hiding" Her mom said.
"I guess so. We'll just have to be hungry." Sodalite's dad turned to sit but just as he began to crouch down something flickered in the corner of his eye.
" Vulture!" He yelled as his head whipped around. "Come on, we can't waste this opportunity. "
Sodalite's mom nodded and flew into the air. Her parents soared above, so beautifully synchronized it was like they were preforming in a ballet. Her dad swooshed and her mother swished. Water flew off their wings as soon as it landed, giving the illusion that the rain parted around them. They had a gleam in their eye that they always did when they knew the catch was tiring and wouldn't be able to escape for much longer. But alas , the gleam died out as the vulture screeched louder than anything Sodalite had heard in her life and caught her parents off guard. In their confusion the bird swooped down and escaped into the distance.
"Toad eyes! I was positive we had that pesky beast." Sodalite's mother yelled angrilly. Quitely, but just enough for Sodalite to make out, she said, "I guess we'll just be hungry again. You'd think the god's wrath wouldn't last so long. You know what. They don't deserve any power. They're nothing but overgrown lizards"
Her parents started to desend with bellies that would surely growl soon. But, the only thing that growled was the sky. When thunder came and set a tree on fire. And then when it poured out and struck down her parents.
Sodalite ran to her father who collapsed a few feet in front of her, tears streaming. "Papa! Papa! No! No! Don't go!"
He kept breathing heavily as his eyes fluttered open and closed.
"Mama! Where are you?" Sodalite called. There was no sign of her. As Sodalite searched frantically around for her mother she spotted a far off spot with smoke rising from it, and thought she could hear a dragon howling. In her mind the only things she could hear were the breathing, howling, and her voice screaming "No, no, no, no, no!"
Then, another sound came to her brain. Her father's voice, " The wrath of the gods won't end until you find those of crystal and gold coats. Until you find those who dance with silver in the sky. Until you find those who snap with anything but anger as adorned by light. I love you."
Then the howling stopped. Then her voice got louder. Then the breathing stopped.



There’s the beginning of my clan’s story, I hope you liked it, whoever has enough time to read this. Sorry it’s so sad! It’ll get nicer, don’t worry. The story will be continued in my dragons bios. The dragons with the story are (in story order): None! Still check out ma babies though please!
