It is a tradition among the dragons of the scarred wastelands... A brutal and savage tradition, but a tradition nonetheless.
The Hellwell Run, as it's often called, is a competition in which dragons of the plague flight band together and fight tooth and claw across the wastelands, pitting clan against clan, until only the strongest remain to call their capital, Hellwell Undercroft, home.
Scars are earned by those who survive.
Important things to note
There are a couple details in my story that clash with FR canon. The most impactful being that the size difference between breeds is a lot less severe. An imperial is still going to be a hell of a lot bigger than a fae, but the fae won't be the size of a bug next to the imperial. This applys to every breed except for the veilspun, those guys are still tiny lil bug dragons.
