"I love you."

"Thats it!" Solas' voice rang out from the nesting grounds like a thunderstrike.
"Come on you little stinker!" He cried.
At Solas' feet lay one last, trembling egg. It's shell cracking, a tiny beak peeking through the hole. The little dragon inside pushed again, cracking the shell almost halfway.
"Dont give up!"
Finally with one last push and a tiny chirp, a small Imperial hatchling tumbled forward, free of it's egg. It sat on its tiny rump and shook away some of the embryo slime from his little face.
"Woo! Yipee!" Solas whooped and picked up the tiny little dragon in his teeth and ran out, his body wiggling with pure excitement.
"It's a boy!" He cried with his mouth full of baby.
"Didn't anyone ever teach you not to talk with your mouth full?" Asked an angelic voice he knew well.
His mate Scamall lay sprawled out in the warm sun, her shimmering body aflame with the sun's reflection.
"I do what I want." Solas grumbled.
Scamall laughed and rose to her feet. Together they walked into the Lair, where the hatchling's mother and father awaited, with his already hatched siblings.
"Oh my baby!" The mother cried as Solas dropped the infant at her feet.
Solas and Scamall watched tenderly as the mother and son were united, and nuzzled one another.
"When are we having another baby?" Solas asked as he rubbed his body against his mate.
"When we can both keep a straight face at the sounds of bodily functions."
Solas tried so hard not to, but the snort escaped him anyway.
"Bodily functions..." He chuckled.
Now Scamall was giggling too.
"Gods. We are a mess."
The two turned to leave, still laughing. Now somewhat hysterically.
They lay together in the sun, Scamall laying against Solas' chest, Solas rubbing his claws along the scales upon his mate's head. His thoughts drifted away, to their daughter. He wondered quite miserably what their little girl was doing. Did she miss them as much as they missed her?
"I love you, you know. My love for you burns brighter than any Sun." He spoke with such sincerity it made Scamall tremble slightly.
"And i love you. I love you like the fish love the water, and the birds love the sky. They are unaware there is anything but the water or sky, but would die without it."
Solas was quiet a moment, reflecting upon his mate's words.
"I love you more than I laugh at bodily functions."
And they were lost to laughter again, the land alive with the echoes of their love and laughter.
