Carlos is a nightshade and violet nocturne with ultramarine runes trailing his body. Donned with his signature lab coat and glasses, Carlos is often seen investigating anything he finds interesting. He is the clan's scientist and always loves learning new things.

As a hatchling, Carlos was born in the rocky terrains of Dragonhome. Science had interested him from a young age, starting with geology. He read any scroll he could get his little claws on about how rocks were made, how geodes formed, types of rocks and geodes, you name it. One night, he was out late excavating a cave, identifying different stalagmites when he heard a terrifying noise. Startled, he ran out of the cave, into the night to get as far away as he could from whatever made that sound. When he finally stopped, he found himself lost within the Tangled Woods. Scared and alone, he was forced to fend for himself in an unfamiliar territory, far from his family and friends.

On his own, he began studying the world around him, figuring out what he could and couldn't eat as well as the terrain so he could better survive the cold eternal nights. He was fascinated with the Tangled Wood and how the sun didn't seem to shine here much, if at all, yet life thrived. He wished he could share his discovery with someone. Almost like magic, a small nocturne appeared before him like a figment of his imagination. Carlos, unsure of this new nocturne, tried to keep away at first. The nocturne followed and seemed to appear anywhere Carlos went like magic. Nicknaming the nocturne Figment, Carlos eventually enjoyed Figments company.

He met a mirror dragon named Cecil, who was quite curious about the newcomer. Carlos tried to keep Cecil at arms length, unsure if he could trust him. However, Cecil was head over heels for him and refused to leave his side. He had to admit, he enjoyed the company for a change. Cecil brought him back to the clan once he gained his trust, introducing him to Jetfyre. Jetfyre welcomed him home with open arms and offered wisdom to help the nocturne overcome his fear of the shadows. He tried to introduce them to Figment, but it seems anytime they looked, Figment was gone. Cecil assumed it was probably an imaginary friend, much to Carlos' dismay.

Within the new clan he calls home, he often keeps to himself when not with Cecil, studying and digging into any anomalies he finds. From time to time, Figment still appears to him. He has, however, befriended two engineers within the clan named Opalrose and Gelbin. All three share a love for science and creativity. If it's a flower blooming out of season or the coils of the very universe unfurling, he is there to figure out what it is and why, If it's a threat to the clan or all of dragon-kind, he'll figure out how to stop it.
