If the clan had a dollar for every time Ash had run off with a female dragon, they would have a amassed a small fortune in treasure.


He was a flirt, a womanizer.
And he didn't care.
What did it matter that the dragons he nested with soon left him?
Danielle barely tolerated his behaviour, he knew.
But she had never really caught him in the act of it.
It was a pretense, he knew.
He was just for show.
Danielle didn't need a mate, neither did she want one.
But the clan had forced her to choose, as they were afraid that without two leaders, decisions would not be made fairly.
But Ash chose to keep out of the 'decision making' as much as possible.
Responsibilities really took the fun out of everything.
This wasn't the only thing that he had done that the clan members disapproved of.
Rumours flew about the dragons he had had hatchlings with, and he did nothing to dispel them.
Ash would throw extravagant parties, inviting dragons from other clans over and causing a headache for the border patrol.
But he was one of the clan's bravest warriors, fighting in the main team in the coliseum, and the first to step up to fight other dragons.
It did not matter who he was going up against.
Even if it was a guardian twice his size.
And although Ash loved the fighting and the skirmishes, he didn't face his responsibilities sometimes.
He would leave his coliseum team just to go flirt with one of the newcomers in the clan, and then claim that the matter that had kept him away was quite urgent.
Of course, nobody liked him then.
They still did not like him now, that was for certain.
Ash simply didn't care.
What was it to him if the others resented or even hated him?
