Inara is the eldest currently living in Shi'Kahr. Early in the clan's days, when but a few dragons had gathered around Surak, she found them - nobody is quite sure how - and settled in almost immediately. Her experience was and continues to be invaluable to Surak, who trusts her implicitly.

She serves as the clan's healer, with the assistance of her serthis companion, Kyli, and her mate, Teknat. With Inara's powerful ice magic and their combined knowledge of curative herbs and tonics, the clan is in good hands - though those injured through their own carelessness should likely seek Teknat's help before hers. She doesn't suffer fools well.

♥ TEKNAT (her husband & fellow healer) Few others can break through his stuttering, nervous shell like she can, with a calm, steady patience that sets him at ease.

♡ KYLI (her serthis companion) Her knowledge and skill with blades has helped Inara refine her practice of the delicate art of surgery.

♡ SURAK (a friend) They have a longstanding friendship that began with a mutual desire for a peaceful way of living. Though Surak is now experienced enough to require her counsel less than he did in the earliest days of his leadership, he continues to value her input.

♥ SUTOK (a friend) Though they are no longer romantically involved, Inara values his friendship. She's much less worried for him after he found a companion in Nil, but still makes sure to visit him often.

⚔ MUROC (her son) Inara regrets having failed to raise yet another child well. Muroc occasionally deigns to answer one of her brusque letters, if only so his parents know he’s still alive.
