 Similar to Virvatuli, Kenda lost her first mate and children to the Beastclans. Unlike Virvatuli, however, when the clan got back on its feet she decided to take another mate. Klahan supported her interests in potions, magic, and even the Shade, helping her collect ingredients and track down ancient texts on the arts.

One day, Kenda—still unskilled with handling the Shade—lost control and the infection targeted her mate, driving him to insanity. All she could do was pray to the Eleven, and they answered by taking him away to gentler lands. The loss closed her off to the rest of the clan, distancing herself so that her research wouldn’t hurt anyone else.
