Jolie's Clan

Clarity is a matriarchal celestial worshiping clan that seeks to bring brightness and clarity to the world of dragons.

The 'Polaris' is the Mother of the clan Clarity and is the highest authority for clan law. The 'Polaris' is a democratically elected elder female of the clan who has the final say in all decisions for Clarity.

The senior clan members are women and the clan is run by the "constellation" - a constantly rotating counsel which is comprised of mostly senior members of the clan. The Constellation is seven seats (it has grown with the clan population), four female spots and one spot which must be filled by a male and one swing spot which can go either way and of course the Polaris.

The counsel's main responsibilities all flow back to the main purpose of keeping the stardust bright within the clan. (stardust is genes).

The clan has the highest value for aesthetics as they believe it is in direct correlation to the quality/quantity of the stardust within each dragon

'Starbright' is the given term regarding all chosen dragons.

The Constellation chooses offspring with the highest ascetic value to stay within the clan, giving the male offspring a chance to breed and enrich the clans 'stardust' before they are sent on their adult purpose to share their 'starbright' genes with the rest of dragon kind. Or to serve the greater dragon community.

All 'starbright' females are given the opportunity to stay within the clan indefinitely but if they choose to leave the clan to share their brightness celebrations are held to send them safety on their way. The more offspring a female has produced within the clan the larger and longer the celebration.

All male dragons follow the revered traditional path set by the first clan father- To enrich the clan by mating until one of their male offspring is chosen "Starbright".

The Constellation is in charge of "the choosing". Once one offspring male has been chosen and their mission within the clan is fulfilled they are able to leave the clan with full honors.

Many times the Constellation has deemed they have more brightness within them and then they are invited to mate with several more females within the clan. These male dragon are held in high standing and are invited to vie for spots on the Constellation.

It is a custom within the clan to have one male and one female of each breed in the clan at all times. This could be mother and son or father and daughter or two completely unrelated dragons.

It is said that the first clan mother declared that this arrangement keeps the clan balanced and has become a highly valued tradition as generations have passed and is the only exception for a non 'starbright' to stay within the clan for any extended period of time.
