CoffeeClaws' Clan

A small clan that built itself up in the absence of its progenitors. It has since grown strong and was living comfortably in a forgotten ruin of an estate. All was well until the final decision was made to move through the Hewn City in hopes of making it to the Beacon.

The shadow that hung over the City was unnatural and with it brought dangers lurking in the night. Upon arrival to their potential home every night they were assaulted by creatures living under the city. Some were identified easily as beastkin or native animals but it was the shadowy things with no shape that sported teeth and claws the clan was afraid of. The Shade they didn't want to admit out loud.

They lost many clan members during this time. Some lost to the battle of Light and Plague, more against creatures when desperately battling for food, but most fell unwarranted against the things in the night. Many tears were shed and a graveyard was made and continued to grow. The mausoleum and crypt was made out of wisdom and grief. In it they bound and shackled the bones of the many Imperials they loved and laid to rest. They prayed to the Lightweaver they stayed that way and many old family members dedicated themselves to protecting it with their lives.

When the clan was at its lowest with only 8 remaining, the two leaders sought help from the dragon Thanatos. An alliance was once offered long ago when Solace's children were traveling far and wide, often marrying into wealthy clans. Back then there was no need and Solace was content. Now the alliance was honored out of desperation and the two clans merged.

Solace brought with them wisdom, history, and family. Thanatos brought with him wealth, structure, and the Court.

Neither clan is rest assured this is for the better.

In my world progenitors are not the same as normal born dragons. Death does not apply to them the same way but rather they would be reset often with amnesia. Depending on how traumatic the event, a progen could wake up in the home of their deity with no recollection. There is also much stigma about a progen leaders; they are found to be more successful with the growth of a clan and less likely to be overthrown during times of war or distress.
I suppose the same follows for GenOnes. They are believed to be made from the gods' essence such as a passing breath, word, or laugh. Though Progens gain special treament as being acknowledged in their creation. GenOnes are oddities as they differ from normal dragons. They are known to live longer and are incredibly much stronger than the general populace, even surpassing their own offspring- debunking the stories of dragonkind getting stronger through generations.

I loved the idea of Silence being the lore term for inactive accounts.

As far as different human languages go, in lore they are seen as cultural differences of either dragon species or based on location and usually are dying as common draconic is dominant.

Technology advances differently in my narrative. The idea came from both location and practical use. In the Shifting expanse, those that live in the spire can be found living in modern homes with light, computerized games, & face cam communications. Along with this I like to think that there the business is lucrative for the nightlife and synthesized music. Magic is still applied to power accessories and of course mundane tasks by the common Lightning dragon but, unless it's a raw power source, magic use is otherwise not largely focused on. Lightning magic researchers are powerful with their inner magic pools and highly valued but are found few and far between.
Alternatively in most the world they live rustically with torchlight or lanterns, rough paper, and caravans. Any idea of the way the modern city in lightning lives is completely irrelevant to the outside world because it simply isn't technologically advanced as it is within the city. Sure messages are sent instantly from one end of the spire to the next but is relatively useless when there aren't stations of tech out in Dragonhome or the Sacrred Wasteland, much less the Sea of a Thousand Currents. To put said resources out into the world would require a lot of time and effort into keeping it maintained or protected.
