clan lore
As you walk into a clearing that opens to the bridge of a large, abandoned-looking castle, you hear the cawing and trills and song of birds that inhabit the trees around you. But the moment you pass a large boulder that rests near the start of the bridge, the sounds stop. A chill goes up your spine, like you just set foot in a place you shouldn't be and drew upon you the eyes of a large amount of individuals.

A low, long caw sounds out, and the sound of feathers rustling and wings taking flight fills the air. You turn to run, but find your path blocked by two
very intimidating female Guardians, their red and blue color contrasts throwing you off momentarily.

You turn again, and find yourself face-to-face with a menagerie of dragons, all their multicolored eyes on you... even though you can't see some of their faces. Two Skydancers step forward from the end of the bridge -- a violet-colored female and a black-colored male -- and they bow their heads in unison; a silent welcome to their territory, and to Castle Duskhallow.

Castle Duskhallow, first and foremost, is a welcoming quiet haven for elder dragons and younglings alike. There are a few who are rambunctious and like to make ruckus, but keep out of the way of the older drakes out of respect, which isn't hard to do in the gigantic space the castle has.

Thanks to the large amount of elders, the Clan has a gargantuan collection of wise, knowledgeable dragons that are willing to teach anyone who will sit and listen. It's not uncommon around the territory to see a weathered drake covered with younglings while they teach in patches of sunlight when the weather is good, only moving lessons inside if storms enter the Shadow lands. They also keep open arms for any Clans that surround them and ones that are from far-away lands that want to come and learn, but do not tolerate troublemakers and those who disrupt classes.

Despite the castle being full of surprises and secrets, a lot of the Clan likes to stay in the nearby forest, coming back home only when it's time to sleep, though none of the elders that are castle-bound from age really blame them. The castle is quiet in the daytime and, as a result, tends to be lonesome unless there are indoor classes going on. Most castle-bound dragons spend their time in the large library that the old stone fortress houses and either pass the day helping the librarian, Atticus, and the library keepers shelve, organize, label the tomes, or simply spend hours reading the uncountable number of books there.

A lot of the younger dragons hold fast to their Shadow roots -- and if not born of Shadows, learn quickly -- and like to pull pranks and games on anyone that visits the castle unawares. One dragon in particular, a blue-and-white Skydancer that's never seen not wearing his white suit, has garnered a rather unsavory reputation among neighboring and visiting Clans for scamming them out of uncountable amounts of treasure and gems in games of cards. This, of course, has gotten him a lot of irked enemies, but most choose to simply avoid him in the future to not ire the Clan leaders into revoking access to the knowledge of the elders.

To be honest, I think my case is strange. I think you should be fine, I hope so. But what natural disasters I've been in, one can't really prepare for. So instead I ride the albeit rocky seas, and try to find enjoyment in tragedy.

It both excites me, and frightens me. I mean in 2007 my area flooded and honestly, I loved every second of it even though my basement was destroyed. I got to ride an ambulance, earth mover, row boat, and army supply vehicle all in one day.
