The space is strangely dark. The canopy of trees overhead block out the remaining rays of sun, bringing night three hours early. You would think it a cave if it weren't for the moist earth and leaf litter under your feet. A sound cuts through the silence. Coarse chatter is shared among what you think are crows sitting up in the pines. In the distance, a pack of Whistlers cry out, hunting you or some other poor soul.
A few towns over, the inn keeper told you that there was a place in these woods protected by a guardian dragon. She told you it was a safe place for travelers of all kinds as long as you pay your respects. You begin to think that you were lied to, but it is too late to turn back. As the sun sets, you set up camp on the water and hope for the best.

Martriarch:Clan organization is loose at best. Milk has the last say on all decisions. She is the oldest permanent resident of the territory and founder of the clan. If she can be awakened from her slumber for consult, she will be.
Nocturne Alliance:If the matriarch cannot advise the clan, the clan will bring issues concerning impermanent residents, trespassers, and possible threats to the territory to the Nocturne Alliance. They operate as enforcers of Milk and Adelaide's will (and occasionally the will of the Shadowbinder). They are allowed to punish other clan members for seditious behavior.
The Messenger:The messenger is a deliverer of messages, as the title proclaims, but the source of those messages varies greatly. They send and receive tangible messages from other clans, and they communicate with supernatural entities (like the deities). Their knack for prophecy is often used to aid in the decision-making process.
The Book Keeper:The Book Keeper effectively functions like an inn keeper. They document who enters and resides in the territory, for what reason, and for how long. They are like s historian, but are only concerned with who comes an goes.
