TeddyTheRobot's Clan
What are men to rocks and mountains?
Clan Info
The parched expanse of the Shattered Plain seems to go on forever. Endless sky above and hardpan below extending in every direction as far as the eye can see. You have been trekking in this featureless waste for ages. Your muscles ache, your throat is dry, your head feels dizzy. Perhaps over this ridge, you think to yourself (or maybe you said it aloud; you aren't sure anymore) over this ridge there will be something. Something to break the monotony of it all.
Topping the dry clay rim, you survey your surroundings. Nothing but more rock and dirt. Nothing but – wait! An oasis! An emerald against the dust, a veritable sea of green!
Now your tired legs can't move fast enough. You scramble down the steep bluff almost tumbling head over tail, desperate for a drink. Soon you reach the pool's edge and plunge your chapped muzzle into the cool water.
After a moment you hear laughter and look up to see a female Guardian standing near you. She is the color of the desert; even her scales look like the cracked surface of the ground. There are dark blue highlights covering her body which look like water running through cracks in the earth. Another deep, earthy laugh bubbles up from her throat like spring water from bedrock.
“My name is Hestia,” she says, and her voice is soft and warm and kind. “Welcome to the Lonesome Wellspring.”
The Lonesome Wellspring was first discovered by a band of Snapper dragons many years ago as they roamed through the Shattered Plain from the Viridian Labyrinth. Grateful for this piece of verdant land that was so like their home territory, they made the spot a regular stop along their migration route. The oasis remained relatively uninhabited for generations; the Snapper band only needed a rest stop, not a permanent lair.
In recent years, however, the arrival of a roc made the oasis practically unusable. Then assistance arrived in the form of a Guardian dragon named Hestia, who helped a Snapper called Sandstorm drive the immense bird away. The two found each other's company pleasant and together they founded the Wellspring Congregation.
Soon the greenery surrounding the pool was again filled with wildlife and more dragons came to join the newly made clan. Even the adjacent bog quickly became populated with dragons. Eventually the area became crowded and new dragons joining the congregation started moving into a nearby cave, Snowflake Sanctuary, named for the snowflake obsidian that is plentiful there.
My name is Teddy, I'm 30 something years old guy and I like fantasy, science fiction, video games, comic books, camping, and kayaking. Always looking for Snappers and Guardians with cool Dwarf aesthetics (runes, metals, earth tones, gembond, etc).
