The Eventide Clan

- A peaceful clan in the waters near Tangled Wood -

Founded by Steela, a fae oracle and healer, the Eventide clan found home in a cliff creek near the borders of Tangled Wood and The Sea of a Thousand Currents. The dark and cold waters of the steep shore house a number of underwater lairs for water dwelling dragons as well as lairs in the cliff for dragons that prefer the dry land.

In the center of this creek opens the Maw of Tidelord, as the dragons like to call it, a seemingly bottomless circular chasm of water. The chasm is used for rituals and other deity related expenses. Exalted members of the clan dive into the depths of the Maw to serve Tidelord.

Eventide is built around the Maw. Little shops and booths circle around it at a respectable distance leaving paths for residents to reach it. The clan leader Steela has set up a small altar on the north side of the Maw for ritualistic and honorary purposes.

Eventide prides itself on it's skilled healers and doctors, this is why you can find many dragons with particular diseases residing in the clan. It's beacon of light can be seen from far away and it serves an assurance for sickly or tired dragons that there is still a glimmer of hope.

The Eventide Clan is a very peaceful clan which does not actively engage in combat, though it has a small group of warriors and a pair of gate guards just to ensure their peaceful lifestyle from outside threats.

” Anointment ”

A phenomenon which causes one’s eyes to swell and burst at the seams in the dragon's elemental alignment. This is painful process which takes place over a week and causes a lot of agony for the dragon when it happens.

An Anointment happens when one is deeply connected and devoted to their element and deity.

This results in one’s eyes becoming fully engulfed in the color of their element with no distinct pupil or iris showing and an emblem of their element appears on their forehead.

"The Screams of the Anointed”

Is a phenomenon that occurs when an anointment is taking place. A freshly anointed dragon’s screams of agony can be heard to all already annointed dragons. The anointed ones join in on the howls and screams in solidarity of another one of their kind being born.

These screams can also be heard by dragons that have not been anointed, but usually only either in the respective clan or flight’s area.

For centuries the screams of the anointed have been used as stories to scare hatchlings not to stay outside after dark.

It’s a highly debated topic wether or not being anointed is an honor or a curse.
