Acorn Acres is a small, quaint tourist town. Nestled in a valley and surrounded by rolling hills perpetually colored in reds, golds, and ambers, the town is known for its year-round beauty. The weather never drops enough for a frost, and never rises to a point where air conditioning is needed. Its perpetual Autumn has made it well known for its beauty throughout the world and its mild weather attracts tourists throughout the year. The farms are blessed by the weather, never truly having an off-season from the Harvest. The town only seems to run into trouble when the beautiful, clear river that runs through the farmlands floods from heavy rainfall. Although this is not common, even small floods can lay waste to the most fertile of the farmlands. Recently, Savir has begun efforts to build detention basins to help control water flow during heavy storms in hopes that any future floods can be avoided while also maintaining the natural beauty of the area.

Once devastated by a great flood that wiped out much of the town’s farmland and destroyed several shops, Acorn Acres has regrown into a popular tourist location. Its perpetual state of Autumn makes it one of the premier locations for “leaf peepers,” or those seeking the colorful fall foliage. Several unique shops selling wares of local artisans highlight its bustling Main Street. Local farms are also open to tours of their extensive apple orchards, with optional apple picking an extremely popular pastime. Just outside of the town, hikers can climb to the top of one of the various surrounding hills and witness the beauty of the town from one of its many marked viewpoints. Sunrises and sunsets–with their myriad reds, oranges, and golds–only add to the beautiful scenery.

Under the guidance of mayor Savir, Acorn Acres has truly turned into a hub for tourism. Once a year Acorn Acres hosts the Acorn Festival to celebrate the overcoming of the massive flood. Artisans, farmers, and shop owners come together to create a week long fair in the Town Center with several games, contests, and other attractions. Popular contests and attractions include the Autumn Fashion show, the Apple Pie Eating contest, Leaf Pile Jumping, Town History Tours, and a town-wide Scavenger Hunt. There is also a celebratory parade and fireworks on the last day with all floats designed by the local artisans and the young of the town marching, dancing, and singing alongside.
