The Rainbow Coast
A stretch of cliffs run up from the southern coast of the Thousand Currents. Layers of fossilized sea life from the ancient past give the cliff face an pearlescent glimmer in the sunlight that lends the region its name. At the base, an expanse of exposed reef, as ancient as the fossils, winds in a maze of sunbleached coral and former cave formations that may have once been a part of the Shoredeep Presage in a different tectonic regime.
Despite its scenic beauty, these Sunbleached Flats at the shorefront are teeming with unsettling spiritual power owing to their origins from the abyss. Dragons who pass through on the cliff road often return with chilling stories and haunted dreams, motivating them to hurry on their way.
...Until a particularly curious and meddlesome obelisk and their stoic but devoted partner discovered the place--and promptly set up a research workshop at the promontory to learn more about the spirits and magic that presided over the Flats.
One would think that the awakening of nearly every spirit in the vicinity with their prodding would bode poorly, but since their arrival, a small but thriving town has burgeoned on this strange and beautiful coast.
Traveler, enjoy your stay. You will find the locals cheerful and the scientists mad, and perhaps may see something unexplained. Step lively, keep your wits about, and you will surely come out with a tale or two to take with you!
