An unremarkable section of the Shattered Plain, near enough to the deadly stone-storms that they cast a pall of haze over half the horizon and their low rumble serves as constant reminder of this land’s dangers. Even here, clouds of dust and fine gravel soar and dance, endlessly tormented by capricious wind.

The approach to the Stillheart lair is obvious enough, being the only unusual thing as far as the eye can see… the earthbound eye, anyway. The ground here has been ripped apart to create a long, descending gash, quite possibly an enlargement of a natural ravine. Numerous oblong megaliths, driven into the ground with tremendous force, lean inward over each of its ragged edges. It is plainly the work of large dragons.

At the bottom of the descent, deep enough for twilight to reign at all hours of the day, lies the entrance to a cavern, which houses the lair proper. A wide corridor, rising and falling at random and sparsely illuminated with white glowing crystals, opens up on the dragons’ individual dwellings and ends in a large common chamber adjoining the vault and cellar.

It is all very austere, hewn into earth and stone with occasionally careless force, with little adornment and few personal belongings in evidence. That is simply the way here.
