Have you ever tried to remember your dream, but only rendering it to escape from your grasp? Remember your dreams. Remember the smell of your dream, the smell of the sea, have you ever dreamt of the sea? Can you smell it now? The sea? The salty grains under your feet, can you feel it now? Feel the sea, not just the beach, but the sea. You know what’s in the sea, and that’s why you dream of it. That’s why you dream of me. You can hear their chanting, can you not? From within the depth of the sea, from the wrecks of the many sunken ships, from the vocal cords of a severed mermaid, and from the empty abyss of nothingness, that I call, home. You have witnessed me, and now you can never forget about me. It is not of the many tentacles that you remember, not of the unnatural frigidity, not of the moist, scale-covered rocks that you touched, are they even rocks? I don’t know, you are the one that woke them up. What you remember is not any of these, but the dreams, the dreams that you had. I weaved that dream for you, do you remember that? I saw you with your longing for the sea, also your ignorance of the its memories. So I weaved you a dream, and you came to me, you came to the sea. You see, the sea never forgets. It remembers every single one that has been to it. It remembers your warmth, your skin, and your breath. It especially loves your dreams. A sea cannot dream, but you can. I use to weave every single dream in the sea, and the sea loves them, until you came, with your real dreams. I cannot keep it asleep anymore. It is not content with my lullabies and stories. It is not satisfied with my fictional adventures and monsters. It wants something more, you. It wants your dreams. So, wake up now, and walk to the sea. It is waiting. |
