[img]410x10 Jagged[/img] The Coven can’t be an easy business to run, and there are rumors that the stress of managing it was what drove the original proprietors mad. Rinzler, however, is made of sterner stuff than that. He has been the face of the Coven for longer than most dragons can remember, so long that sometimes, they wonder if there even were previous founders to begin with. Outsiders who visit the Coven, hoping to encounter an eccentric, unhinged proprietor, will be disappointed: Underneath the eerie trappings and mutations, Rinzler is every inch a businessdrake. He cultivates his appearance because he knows it draws the right clientele. Idle gawkers will quickly wander off, but those who know their stuff will find that more often than not, the Coven offers all the enchantments and ingredients they need. Many of these visitors exchange contact details with Rinzler before returning home. When they find themselves in need of a few choice ingredients, they need only dispatch a message to the Coven, and Rinzler will see to it that they are sent what they require. Not everybody who comes to the shop is a prospective customer. Dragons looking to settle in the clan will inevitably find themselves drawn to the Coven, for it is the biggest provider of jobs. Rinzler, being a workaholic, isn’t always the easiest dragon to work for. But he is at heart quite decent, and many a clan member has gotten a successful start while under his employ. Coven employees will also learn a great deal about witchcraft: Rinzler is a skilled proprietor who knows every fault or virtue of every product he sells, and is able to explain these, with seemingly encyclopedic knowledge, to anyone who asks. His confidence in his wares makes for great advertising, and so the Coven flourishes. Naturally, this knowledge also leads others to assume that Rinzler is himself a great witcher. They are always surprised to learn that his skills have grown feeble, owing to a lack of practice, and that even his sword is more useful as a wand than as a weapon. He knows his wares, however, and he knows how to bring in money, and so his lack of magical skills notwithstanding, he is treated with respect. The Coven is the heart of the clan, after all—and it is Rinzler who keeps it beating. |
