"Beauty is who you are. Jewelry is simply the icing on the cake." Chalcedony's past is a mystery to the Hotaru clan. The older dragon has traveled the breadth of Sornieth, learning different techniques for cutting gemstones to form perfect jewels. A master of his craft, Chalcedony opted to settle down in the Hotaru clan for reasons known only to him. His lair is set up near the blacksmiths as he sometimes requests their help with various tasks. It isn't only due to the location of his lair that hatchlings avoid him, though. Chalcedony is a stern dragon who does not approve of frivolities which makes the daily antics of hatchlings bothersome if not downright irritating. He refuses to allow anyone access to his workshop and watches those who come to visit his stall with an eagle eye. The only one who has managed to successfully steal from him was Nocturnal and since then he has requisitioned quite a few traps for his goods. Chalcedony does have one soft spot. He noticed a young pearlcatcher hanging around his shop for months, eyeing the engagement rings each day before leaving without making a purchase. When the pearlcatcher finally got the courage to ask him to make a ring, Chalcedony did so for free. Nuriel never found out what caused him to act so kindly, although he was very grateful for it. Hobbies: Dream catchers. Chalcedony likes to make dream catchers with the scraps of gems he has left over after cutting them. He hangs them on trees around the clan and the light catches the gems and shines down in multiple colors. Many believe that Chalcedony has helped beautify the clan since he joined.
