KESTREL
ASSISTANT RECORDS KEEPER

Kestrel is what is sometimes described as an "old soul." Even as a hatchling she was quieter and more serious than her siblings. Unlike the other hatchlings, she hated the din and chaos of camp, and preferred to find a quiet corner to play by herself. This led her to wander into many other dragons' dens unexpectedly in search of solace. She was affectionately dubbed the Little Loner by her clanmates, and many of them kept a small pile of the softest blankets tucked away in a corner of their den just for her. Kestrel was the first of her clutch to accompany their mother on one of her trips into the desert. Much like her mother, Kestrel immediately loved the stillness of the desert. She revels in the quiet and the heat, and still frequently goes with Eclipse on her forays into the desert. One night during a particularly loud thunderstorm, Kestrel dove into Sioc's den to escape the rain and noise. To distract her from the storm, the old Imperial showed Kestrel his record keeping system, and she helped him file records while the storm raged outside. Since then she has continued to help Sioc, especially as he aged, and stayed within his own den more and more. She finds it easier to interact with other dragons as Sioc's intermediary than simply as herself. Although she is grown now, Kestrel still struggles to find her own place in the clan. She enjoys helping Sioc, but she wants the respect that comes with an official job of her own in the clan. She has had a few nests, but never settled with a mate or really been attached to one of her breeding partners. Although no one else would ever say so, she feels un-useful and sometimes wonders if the Den might be better off without her. 
Kestrel
Kestrel is also a bit of a hoarder! She has large collections of seemingly useless objects strewn around her den. She has also, with help from Iris and Nishati, been secretly collecting eggs! Kestrel occasionally finds lone dragon eggs while investigating events for Sioc. Once she is sure the egg is truly abandoned, she brings it back to a hidden corner of Iris’s garden. Nishati and Iris watch over the eggs, keeping them warm and safe while Kestrel is away. So far none of them have hatched, but Nishati assures her they are still healthy, simply waiting for the right time to enter the world. All of the eggs ever challenge Started 10/29/19 |
