Copper Memories
|
Dusty breeds exclusively with Kurth, familiar tamer for the Tempest Chase. Whenever he’s not traveling with the Chase, he lives with her. They raise their own children, though Lilwen - Dusty’s only other dragon friend - the hatchling caretaker could be reasonably called all the hatchlings’ godmother. Their hatchlings are likely to love the outdoors and adventuring with a trusty sidekick that’s usually an animal. |
Featuring:
Abbey Age: almost 1 year old Baby Mirror and instigator of shenanigans. |
Merle Age: almost 1 year old Baby Mirror and along for the ride, but hardly innocent. |
Dusty Age: 1 year old Ranch hand for her dad’s ranch. Barely more than a kid herself. |
Heather Age: 20 years old Gardener determined to keep good relations with the neighbors. |
I'm too lazy to write an actual story so here, have a nice little bullet-pointed list of the most important parts of this story.
- Dusty runs outside of the ranch house at the sound of screaming antelope and - dragon babies??
- The neighbors let their kids out again. Two Mirrors and two Fae babies were playing around in the field with the animals when some gale wolves showed up to eat the antelopes. Dusty books it out there on huge, powerful wings and manages to blow them away with wind magic.
- Dad shows up and he’s significantly less ticked than Dusty. But he’s hiding it for the literal babies’ benefit. They can’t just go running around messing with other dragons’ stuff. We walk them back to the Estate of Escape.
- Nadia is horrified, and Mere is surprised. Kids are really a handful, aren’t they?
- As an aside, I think Radek regrets everything at this point. Especially since Hydra is nowhere to be seen.
- Anyways, we are all pretty embarrassed, so we thank Mr. Dusty’s dad, and they go back about their business.
- POV switch to Nadia or Mere or whatever. We have a brief argument about whose responsibility these little things are. Nadia is like, “Well for me, it was just a mistake, but what about you? Where’s Hydra? Someone needs to be watching these infants.”
- Jonathan and Heather show up because of the commotion. Jonathan’s like, “Oh no my dear what is it.” (And Mere’s like, “Yeah, see, this is why I don’t actually want a mate. Look at this joker over here.”)
- Heather’s like, “Well, I’ll do it. I love babies. They’re cute.”
- Meredith is like, “Praise Tidelord.”
- That’s it. That’s the story.
