Iago

Iago grew up on stories of the queens that once ruled Clan Yonder. She spent her childhood in awe of them, playing games about the stories she had heard with her brother and any other dragon who would be willing to play. She dreamed of one day being a queen like them, and was disappointed when her father told her the clan would never have another queen. It didn't need one anymore, it was an inn.

As she got older, however, the dream never left her. She was still fascinated to learn the history surrounding the past traditions of the clan. She would eagerly listen to any dragon who would tell her anything about what Adrika was like, and would meet up with Fenn for tea whenever the opportunity arose. She tentatively asked questions about Azra, wanting to find out her strengths.

As she matured, she began to realize the clan was feeling cramped in the inn. Sure, there was certainly enough space for everyone, but the roles they could take up and dreams they could pursue were limited. Already the inn was looking more and mare like a small town as shops were set up around the courtyard. It was then that Iago got her idea.

When she proposed the idea to her mother, she was met with laughter, but upon realizing her daughter was serious, Hinnah told Iago that she thought it was a great idea. She explained that from what she had heard, the clan had become an inn out of fear of disruption and death due to the constant drama of who would hold power, yet that fear was inhibiting the growth of the clan now.

Iago thought long and hard about what she wanted for the clan before she officially proposed the idea. She subtly sought advice from many dragons in the clan, wanting to get input from all generations of her clanmates to make sure the clan was still an ideal place for all who wanted to live. When she did officially propose the idea, boldly but intensely nervous, she was surprised to find how many dragons supported her idea to expand the inn into a port town.

That was how the port town of Iyonda Landing came to be. The Inn Over Yonder still exists, being piloted around the skies of the Windswept Plateau and docking at Iyonda Landing at night. Iago, to her great surprise and joy, was proposed to be the official leader of the clan. Admiring her simultaneous mind for innovation while still respecting tradition, many dragons found her the natural fit for the job.

While Iago has given her position the title of queen, her role is much more close to a mayor than a monarch. The heir system has been dismantled, leaving whoever the clan feels to be the best fit and also has a heart for the role to be the deciding factors in leadership. She is fiercely proud of achieving her dreams, despite those who told her it would never be possible.

She cares deeply for her clan and clanmates, and she hopes that one day, her leadership will be as fondly remembered as the other leaders the clan has had. he carries all their legacy with her. She seeks to have Fenn's kindness, Azra's strength and ferocity, Adrika's wisdom, and Olivia's innovation and knack for organizing dragons in a way that fits their needs and interests. Many dragons find her recognition of Azra's good qualities controversial, as many remember the pain and bloodshed she caused, or have heard many horrifying stories, but Iago holds to the fact that though she was a tyrant and lacked many qualities that would have made her a loved and successful leader, Azra was good at leading and there are as many things that could be learned from her as the other leaders the clan has had.





Gone. Everyone was gone. Her home...her clan...her family.
She was lost now. Alone.
