Biography

     Falco the Ace
       what, is it bird season?

Theme: What's Up, Danger?

━━ story ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
“Oh, come on.” Even for Tundras, this one was irritating. “Can you believe this guy, Radek?”

To Falco’s relief, the other Tundra just mumbled and didn’t say anything. The Guardian with them, though, Lorne, spoke up. “Well, he’s right, Mere. It’ll take too long for us to fly there and back with you guys in tow before night falls and we’ll have to stop.” He sighed. “It’s too dangerous.”

“Glad to see there are some brains around here,” Falco said.

Mere burst out laughing. “Brains? Him? You?”

That was going too far for Falco. He glared at the Tundra for half a second before spreading his wings. “Fine. If you think you can make it back without us.”

Ignoring Radek’s panicked look, Falco crouched, about to pounce into the air. Barely lifted one foot before Lorne’s enormous Guardian wing pressed him back down. “It’s our job to protect them, bud.”

Falco stared. Lorne was right. But it didn’t mean he liked it.

“That’s what we pay you for,” Mere snapped. For a second, maybe everyone thought he was done. But he wasn’t. “Not to think, fortunately for you.”

Falco jumped forward━or, at least, he tried. Once again, Lorne came between him and the oppressively idiotic Tundra that really needed a claw to the jaw.

“Yikes.” Lorne sighed, turning his eyes on Falco as he pushed Mere away with his wing like a dustmote. Mere objected, but Lorne ignored it, like this was nothing. He had, after all, been working with Mere for longer than Falco had been alive. “What is it, bird season or something?”

━━ history ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Shed Cobalt Scale
Turtle Shell
Ragepuff Down
Splintered Reeds
Falco came to the Tempest Chase as an orphan, his parents long gone for reasons that no one knew and Falco was too young to remember. His bringing up and education was something of a group effort, and his attitude as an adult goes to show that it may take more than a village to raise a hatchling. He always leaned toward independence, if not outright defiance, especially when his airborne capability was nearly virtuosic even when he was small and just barely able to use his wings correctly. His caretakers probably didn’t deserve him, given how hard they tried to set him on a strait and narrow.

The moment Falco was old enough, he joined the Tempest Chase on hunts, keeping to the sky where his speed and agility served him best. Overtime, he was, perhaps, single-handedly responsible for forming the group in the Tempest Chase that fights almost exclusively in and from the sky. His favorite monsters reside there, rivaling him for speed and ferocity.

In his adulthood, Falco has finally taken to something akin to respect for some of the Tempest Chase. He looks up to Lightning and Hydra, though this may just be because he knows his own experience may never rival theirs. The dragon he most looks up to is Lorne, for his solo mercenary genesis. Even though he’s never without his band of annoying Tundras, he tells stories of the things he did before he found his steady gig. He also talks about going back to it, though that’s not happened yet. Falco suspects he’ll move on one day, and hopes he will himself. Even though Falco swears he’s better alone among the clouds, his team doubts wholeheartedly that he couldn’t hack it solo.

There was never a more confusing Nature dragon than Falco. Truth be told, Falco hates Nature. He far prefers the grass to be stamped down and to be so far above the trees he couldn’t see the trunks. Nevertheless, Nature has done Falco some tremendous favors. After all, there are just some things he couldn’t have achieved with practice alone. His eyes are as sharp as a new spear, and his wings are as strong and thick as an Imperial’s. Falco maintains that it isn’t anybody’s doing in particular he’s the strongest and fastest flyer, least of all Nature. He never asked for it, but he sure is going to use it. And he’s not saying thank you, either.

Nobody is quite sure why Fox and Falco are as friendly as they are, but they sort of are. Maybe it’s that Fox doesn’t offer Falco any disrespect (never mind that Tricolor Yappers can’t talk). Maybe it’s that he’s the only other flying creature that even approaches Falco’s mastery… which is somewhat hilarious considering Fox is little more than a winged puppy. Whatever the case, the two have been together since they were small. As long as the Tempest Chase continues to pay Falco handsomely, Fox will be with him.

━━ interactions ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Unhatched Bogsneak Egg Nobody, especially not Falco, know where his parents disappeared to. Fortunately, they chose a decent location to leave him. Though they have nothing in common, from appearance to personality, Lilwen considers Falco her son. In return, Falco considers Lilwen like his mother. Though he doesn’t much care for her mate Vain’s mundane work, he does acknowledge the Chase would be worse off without him. On particularly lonely nights (as most dragons of the Chase don’t spend much time with him unless they’re being paid), he will eat with Vain and Lilwen. Lilwen wishes that he would just be himself with others as he is with them.

━━ notes ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
» Falco picked his surname on his induction into the Tempest Chase. His full name is Falco Skyclaw.
»
» Falco’s mate, Lilika, is just as prideful as he is, though in a different way. They tend to get along well, but Falco doesn’t much care for her adoptive family, Jonathan and Nadia.

aesthetic: Falco enjoys looking cool, but doesn’t want anything to get in the way of his flight; he wears loose-fitting jackets anyway
likes: himself, flying, being admired or looked up to
dislikes: Idiots, embarrassing himself, incompetence
