▾ Ymir is an enigmatic being, hard to define. She is a giant, even by draconic standards, but despite her size it's rare to get a clear sighting of the beast. Many rumors circulate about Ymir's nature. Some say she is a powerful elemental, the direct fusion of the gods' magics. Some say she was once a banescale who escaped death in the old wars by hiding near volcanic vents deep below the ice, warping her elemental allegiance over the eons and turning her into something entirely her own. She joined the clan with a young nocturne named Loki, but whether they are her charge, a friend, a lover, or just traveling companions is unclear. Loki is characteristically cryptic when anyone asks them about Ymir. Ymir lingers on the outskirts of the Galehart clan, shrouded in mist. It is most likely that she has taken the entire clan as her charge, protecting and sheltering it from a distance, but she is prone to disappearing for long stretches, so even that assumption is pure speculation.
