Intent:
To watch the Clan's bamboo-and-iron gate around the clock. Nothing and no-one comes in without his permission, and he knows all the ins and outs of the Clan grounds like the back of his paws.

To provide good company to the other guards on cold winter nights along with his companion, the iguana

To feed said iguana with only the finest scrap metal- before King finds out- why does he still hoard scraps anyways?

To promise Polar to not tell anyone about where his brother Pine escaped to- that is, until they inevitably find out because he's left to one of Windflight Clan's closest allies

Lore/Notes:
Nightshade isn't all that bad, you know. Sure, he's a bit intimidating, but under the woodmask is a pair of warm, glowing orange eyes and a heart, shining with the warmth of a thousand embers.
Following the death of Stonehall, Windflight Clan's captain of the guard, Nightshade was once again recognized for his dedication to protecting Clan territory and was promoted to his friend's former position. He wears it with pride, of course.

Council Housing: "This is where Nils and the other guys on the Council live, like Diamond and Apoc. It's also on the same Ascent- our name for the cliffs- as the main council building. I've only been in there once, and it's really big- like, multiple-imperials-big."
Gaia's Cave: "One of our leaders, Gaia, hails from an Earth clan and is accustomed to living amongst nature, so we helped her hollow out a big cave for her and her family."
Housing: "This is where most of us reside when we're not working or training or holding meetings. I like hanging by the guard posts, but I have a hut up here. They're mostly made of bamboo, wood and stone, but some if not most are magically coated to be flame-resistant."
The Plaza and the Announcement Platform: "Here's where we like to gather to sing or dance or have picnics if we see the need to. It's also where we gather if anyone has an announcement to make, as it's directly under the big wooden platform above your head. That thing's been in use since we moved to the Reedcleft Ascent."
Windflight University Site: "One of our dragons, Polar, had the idea of creating a university here for dragons wanting to pursue a higher education. It's not built yet, so we have this empty site where we're going to build a tower. He also had ideas to make it look more 'modern' than everything else here... is that an insult?"
Visitor's Quarters: "Much like a hotel, I think. Our travelers stay here when they visit the Clan."
Blacksmith: "Back when we first came here- at least, the stories say, I wasn't hatched then- this old place used to be ran by an old Imperial named King. Now it's managed by a group of us working on and off, where they create weapons, armor, spare parts and other things to trade off."
Windflight Cafe: "Ah, the Windflight Cafe! This one's run by two brothers, Sharpclaw and Jade, and it's the favorite hangout spot of a lot of us here in Windflight Clan. Please do stop by some day, the stuffed bamboo sticks they make are iconic... but be careful, the brothers have been known to be pranksters."
Nursery: "Nests and hatchlings reside on the lower levels of the Clan, but they're well-protected as they learn about the world around them and how to fly."
Guard Posts: "These guys are stationed around the territory where the Council deemed good places to keep watch from. You'll normally find one or two guards by each. As for me? I'm usually by the gate, or the post by the gate."
Markets: "And finally, we come to the markets on the First Ascent- our term for the lowest-lying cliff. As long as we deem you friendly, and you've been with us for a while, this is the stop for all you merchants and dragons with things to buy or sell."
