Biography

The Dreaming Wanderer, Clan's Lorekeeper
KEEPER OF FORBIDDEN KNOWLEDGE

he went wandering through Sornieth for a year, and has come back with mild, persistent hallucinations and seemingly no memories of the past year. All he remembers is following a herd of goats through a very dense fog. He was very scatterbrained and whimsical before his sabbatical, so his personality didn't really change much. However, he had normal eyes, last time he was seen by dragons.

His head is filled with stories, some so strange that the clan thinks he's been creating hatchlings' tales for his own amusement, and others so historically accurate and detailed it seems that he was there, like when he tells of tales like the births of the Arcanist, Gladekeeper and Plaguebringer. Also, when asked about any dragon in the clan, he seems to have a near-supernatural knowledge of their life stories.

He's been recording both the ghosts' stories he came back with and the lives of the clan's dragons (with their permission of course, he's no brute!), so the clan's taken to calling him the Lorekeeper. Sometimes, he's spotted staring at the sky, in the direction of the ruins of the Pillar of the World, murmuring nonsensical sentences...

author's (story) note: The goats were really just goats, but the fog wasn't just fog. This dragon walked through time, accompanied by a herd of unlucky goats, who he came to care for. They, assisted by the fog, found and witnessed most major historical events of Sornieth. He's the Encyclopedia of this Clan. However, such knowledge comes with a price. In Beach's case, reduced sanity and the dubious ability to see the world without judgement, gaining goat eyes like his traveling companions. The herd died to the Arcanist's second mistake.
|
author's (regular) note: So i exalted him like, a week or so after the anniversary where the eye types were introduced and then called him back a bit before the anniversary where Gaolers were released, thus his lore!

The Story of Clan Sanctuary
as remembered by the Lorekeeper, Beach

When this Clan began, it grew from three places:

One, the open plains and Clans of the Zephyr Steppes.

Two, a well-loved cottage on the border of Light and Shadow.

Three, the slowly rusting back alleys of Goldensparc.
...

Willow, an abandoned orphan, spent most of her life bouncing around various Clans in the Steppes before she befriended fellow outcast Beach. Neither one was much liked by the Clan that they met in, so they decided to explore the big wide world on their own.
Nevermind that barely-grown hatchlings had little magical power, and Faes are small as it is.

They went East first, through the unforgiving heat of the Waste. Few dragons were met, with many more hostile Beastclan encounters. Coming upon the Churnscar Wharf was a relief. They learned much there, as it is the shipping hub of Sornieth.
After a few ill-advised attempts at dealing with pirates and an incident involving some freed runaway Imps, a very angry familiar breeder, and the local law enforcement, Willow and Beach stowed away on the nearest docked ship they came across. That ship happened to be a Lightning Flight sky-and-sea ship, and was skybound towards the Turrets of Goldensparc just as Willow and Beach hitched a ride.
...

There is a cottage at the heart of a deep, wild, magical forest. This cottage seems, at first, abandoned to the plant life and forces of Nature. Upon closer inspection, a curious dragon will get an angry Mith to the face. Mud is very protective of his home and caretaker, after all.

Verdant's cottage is smack on top of the border of Shadow and Light, in the depths of the forest that could be called East Wispwillow Grove or West Mirrorlight Woods. Happily for Verdant, Nature native, no Light or Shadow dragons would deign to settle so close to their dearest enemies so she had the whole immense expanse of wilds to herself.

That is, until the little assassin joined her.

Kirin was, to put it mildly, a traumatized mess when she first met Verdant by almost bleeding out in her tomato patch. Honestly, it's kind of hard to beat out "half-dead barely-grown ball of anger issues and anxiety" as someone's emotional and physical rock bottom.

And rock bottom it was, as Kirin only went up from there. Through many trials and tribulations and quite a lot of therapy (thank you, mysterious yet friendly Dandelion!), she learned to love herself and how to accept love from others. During the ups and downs of Kirin's recovery, Verdant became her true, loving family. They lived peacefully in their cottage, happily ever after.

Well, until some strangers stole from the garden again...
...

The Turrets of Goldensparc are shiny, intimidating, and stink to the high heavens.
"Seriously, hasn't anyone heard of sewer systems in this place?"
"Shush, Beach, you're gonna get us caught!"
So Willow and Beach weren't too impressed with Goldensparc.

Anaster, she said her name was. (trip over baby ana in a back alley, after ana was refused days wage and fought back)

Unahara stopped them, asking "please. Please, take me with you, I can't be here anymore," covered in bandages and limping. (see una around golden, stealing and getting more and more injured. they help each other sometimes, give extra food/coin. they get una's story as they leave)

The frazzled wizard lifted her still-smoking feelers towards them. "Oh, yeah, my name's Dawn, who're you guys?" (escape angry lightning officials into Wastes again. on foot to Churnscar)

"You are the prettiest freakin' dragon I've ever laid these four eyes on," the mirror in the water said, seemingly without realizing she'd even said anything. "I'm Duske, does your name happen to be Gorgeous, gorgeous?"
(Willow did a spit-take, cackling at the worst pickup line she'd ever heard, did this dragon really think that'd wor-? Dawn accepts, by the Windsinger. Why.) (after Churnscar, crossing Thousand Sea to Flotsam where Duske is, continue across to Sunbeam Ruins)

The Mith came out of nowhere, successfully driving six fully-grown dragons out of the garden until the cottage's door opened. "Mud, honey, stop harassing the guests. Come in, dearies, and introduce yourselves!" called the elderly bogsneak, studiously ignoring the spiral leering over her shoulder with knives pointed at the thoroughly startled would-be thieves.

ok so beach, anaster, kirin, dawn, duske, unahara, willow at verdant's cottage, missing four OGs.
anaster, kirin, willow, beach leave bc why? willow & beach = wanderlust not done yet, anaster = crush on wil, kirin= wanna travel freely, no pressure to kill.
dawn, duske, una stay and get a grandma as they begin searching for a place to construct the Sanctuary and begin building on the cliffside above a massive sea level cave and system.
find azu in Wood (kirin bonding w attempted thief), bubble in the Boneyard(walk in on over battle, bubble only one left standing), perl in the Astrolodome(get scammed by him and get money back and be friends), and lastly sharif in the Floes(greiving lost clan and kids to sinking floes, needs way forward) and then they all turn back north to see peaceful (for now) Earth and Nature regions and head to Sanctuary. Beach splits from group on Earth/Nature border, to see more history before home. Says he will write.

come back, mention a few new arrivals that appeared while gone, beach split from leave party and left letter for the others, hermes is There playing with zephyr. beginning of something important. timeskip

beasts arrive, freak out the baby Clan, build home in woods. reps exist, namedrop all. timeskip

beach arrives like minutes before ancients happen, get the gaoler and bane and veil lads (some appear, others scout and merchant parties adopt home), coastal finds Zilla, teen Clan freaks out. timeskip

end w/ current Clan vingette, desc. of one day? shadow pov willow?

yay the end (aGH this project is taking forever, why do i have so few dang spoons)
