Facilier

Apart from being a spirit of the season of Autumn, Facilier is a calm, yet powerful dragon who has a little trouble with controlling his fire levels. Coming from the heart of the Ashfall Waste, his nest was raised in the furnace, where he would be charged with firing weapons and maintaining the cleanliness of the area, Facilier couldn't find enjoyment and left.

He would wander off from the Ashfall Waste and for awhile, had no idea of his calling, not until he would wander into an unknown territory of nature, and be faced with savage mirrors, most of which he hit before they swarmed him. The skydancer had the meat eaters on his neck, chest, one of which had teeth set and was sinking them into his throat.

As Autumn leaves fell, fire erupted from his body and lit the murderous, hungry dragons up like meat over a fire, they perished in ash and smoke and he would lay, eyes closing as an orange aura would surround him, his cuts would slowly close, and he would start to grow more animal like features, like antlers, and some of his colors would change to a more autumn tone, with browns and orangeish.

A few months would pass, the sleeping spirit would wake and find he had antlers, along with swarming autumn leaves all around, his fire was there, and so would be an unknown deity, she would approach the wary dragon, a dryad with a a soft tone.

"I look to pass the season to you, young dragon." she would tell him.

A melodic voice, he would sit up, he was taller than her, and she looked faded. "I'm not sure you have the right...creature, I'm a dragon." He would say, unsure of his duties.

"You're the next one silly, I wish for you to take my place as the deity of autumn, I will be your guide and protector for the time being, the damage you took from the mirrors in your life, ended up being too much for your body."

He looked in shock, he had to see that he wasn't dreaming. "That can't be possible, I... burnt them all,didn't I?"

"You managed to yes, but they left you very injured."

He looked at the ground rather puzzled, his eyes half lidded as he was trying to recollect everything that happened to him. He couldn't wrap his mind on how he got here and with some more thinking, he looked to the Dryad or whatever she could be, directly in her gold eyes. “I want to know some things before I commit to this, how did I get here? What is special about me? What does this “deity position” require?”

She took in his questions, he was difficult yes, but she had a feeling the right words would make him more comfortable. “I had a dream of your birth Facilier of fire, I personally blessed your egg, to make sure you would hatch strong, you were born close to the hottest district and some eggs burn before they hatch, you and your siblings lived by my blessing, but you were special.”

Facilier just nodded. “What about...the other questions?”

“I brought your soul here after you were beaten down by the ambush. As for position, your power is in Sornieth, you are the changer of the leaves, you beckon onto Winter as Summer beckons onto you, you are Autumn Facilier, your command will bring the weather.”

He looked up to the sky, the domain itself, was Autumn, with the maple trees all around, their leaves the reds oranges and yellows with some other tints mixed in, some on the ground, some blowing about in the playful wind. He could see his appearance had changed a little more. A smile formed to his long pointed snout as he contemplated the beautiful domain of Autumn and he let out a soft breath as he sniffed the air, getting the mix of the sap and leaves around him.

He looked to the Dryad and gave a slow nod. “Then I accept if I am special to you, I will do my best.”

“Then allow me to bless you with the rest of my power Facilier of fire.”

The wind picked up as the dryad held her hands out, palms facing Facilier. The dragon watched as the wind blew the leaves off the ground to him, the wind caressed through him, even through his feathers, and his scales. His fire activated, combining with the feeling and the energy took form to him. The orange yellow red and gold leaves surrounded him in a tornado then it dissipated as quickly as it started.

Facilier opened his eyes and looked at himself, covered in honeyed leaves of ivory over the burnished armor, ruby pendants on his tail, and neck, jeweled cascades heading from mane to haunches, and gold platings traveling from the base to middle of his tail, antlers fully matured, He let out a slow breath.

He looked to the deity that looked exhausted, she floated up to him, hands gently on his cheeks, her kindness never left as she kissed his nose. “I believe in you, and I will watch over you.”

She had vanished and Facilier explored the domain that had now become his charge.



There will be more to this dragon's story, but for now, this is how Facilier has become the spirit of Autumn
