Fern the Lorekeeper

There was a loud ruckus as hatchlings scampered into the library, laughing and falling over each other. The old lady in the main room turned to see the five young children collapse onto the set of pillows she used to lounge back while reading.

"Hello, children." she smiled, putting her book back on the shelf and turning to them. The iridescent fabric of her cape shimmered softly in the sunlight as the blue feathers of her ornaments waved in the breeze.

"Tell us a story!" a young Mirror chirped, with murmurs of excited agreement from the rest of the hatchlings. She chuckled, setting her pearl down slowly as the hatchlings gathered around with wonder. The surface of the pearl began to glow, showing the figures of dragons, monsters, grand and ruined cities alike.

"Which one do you want to hear?"
