Possessor of perfect pitch, thus her only feasible paths in life were tuner of instruments or maimer of amateur musicians. Instrument tuning led to investigation of just how many kinds of instruments there are which led to the discovery of wind chimes, which are the pinnacle of everything pleasurable in life and worthy of the pursuit of perfection.

Developed her own recipes for oils to weatherproof the wooden bases, clappers, and sails, which involve exacting extraction and distillation of plant resins, mineral spirits, dart frog secretions and fae sap, then moved to the Ashfall Waste to learn precision techniques to improve her pipesmithing from the most expert source. There she also unfortunately learned the Ashfall Waste is a sweltering greenless blight to jungle-raised sensibilities so moved across the border to the Windswept Plateau.

Wind territory is a much better fit. Took the Wanderin lair's name as an obvious invitation (like many others do), and rather than attempt to force her present surroundings to fit her past adapted to the native clacky-hobo fashion (it's surprisingly comfy), honeyed-locust cuisine and bamboo.

Bamboo everything. Wind chimes are very popular in wind territory, but also most often made from bamboo (probably because there's so much of it). Which, granted, does make for an oddly pleasant sound, but is awfully susceptible to cracking due to cold, humidity, strong winds or age, which makes the note go flat and ruins the chime. Perfecting a bamboo varnish looks to be a long-term project.

Some dragons look at a longstanding natural rock formation and see beauty. Some look at it and see room for improvement. A particular close-set cluster of tall, skinny spires near the lair look a lot like a pipe organ if you squint...

And once Carillon hollowed them out (under Johnny's direction), sent away to the Great Furnace for massive precisely measured pipes (Kamaji's forge just wasn't big enough), installed and tuned them, added blowholes for the wind to play through and pedals at the base it is an instrument. An imperial-sized, exactingly designed, astonishing marvel of natural and dragon-made engineering. (And quite the tourist attraction.) A true magnum opus.

For now.

Re'em spent a fascinated afternoon watching her make a set of windchimes from start to finish, and at the end paid for it with a pillow from his hoard.

It's not like she would have charged, especially since he held his beaks shut to stop up all questions, but he insisted. It fits her aesthetic so alright.
