Biography

-Events- (since rebirth)
3/25/19 - Delirio orders that Glitz and Glam be brought before him. In a rather controversial turn of events, the reborn demon claims them as his first sacrifices since his return. He brings them to Sorrowtown, where he kills them before the Nalrun progenitors as an offering. Lewis greets him as what he is- another corpse walking, and once flesh and blood are separated from the sacrificial dragons, Delirio dines at their table.
10/10/19 - Delirio receives a surprise visit from Nicholas, who due to a legal technicality must propose the transport of the golem Forge to Sorrowton before going through with the expedition. Delirio grants the request and dispatches seven House Risk guards to ensure Nicholas's safety during the trip, as well as that of Forge. Delirio gifts Forge a ring, seeing the living construct as spiritual kin.
10/13/19 - Ferris meets with Delirio, and the two discuss what will be needed of the Railclaw reinforcements before the possessed blade leaves to join Toro's warband. Ashkiival requests the demon's aid, but the idea is rejected outright.
10/16/19 - Delirio scouts ahead while Ashkiival negotiates with a naval crew that Sorceare has assembled. He is joined by two of Toro's archchannelers and by a band of kitsunes led by Duke Lewis Graves, who has decided against his better judgement to join in the offense against Kaltvinter.
10/19/19 - The Empatheian invasion force reaches the outer sea and sets sail.
10/23/19 - The invaders reach the southern icefield and push inland toward Kaltvinter.
10/27/19 - Toro and his channelers reach Weaver's Sett. Calling upon the spirits that have served his family for centuries, Toro takes the shape of a massive featherback boar. Dragons of fallen Pigsburrow rally to assist him as he begins tearing down entire rooms, destabilizing tunnels, and seeking out places of worship to trample the altars he finds there. Delirio joins Toro and serves to cut down some of the mages who seek to fell the grand beast, and for the moment, the two seem almost invulnerable.
10/27-29/19 - House Risk provides a barrier between Pigsburrow civilians and the assault of the dragons of Weaver's Sett, while a small team from House Faust interrogates and dispatches potential traitors in the field. The Empatheians withdraw from the field of battle through holes in the roofs of the lower caverns, and tunnel their way upward through the ice and stone. Toro lags behind, accompanied by Delirio and Oasis. The king is badly wounded and very tired.
10/30/19 - Toro dies of his wounds. He had been bitten by a spider while down in the tunnels, and Lewis supposes that he may have otherwise recovered.
11/2/19-3/29/20 - Delirio vanishes into Cairnstone Rest. Some rumors say that the demon is dead. Others, that he has merely gone to clear his head for awhile, or to speak with the spirits that reside there.
4/3/20 - A letter arrives in Empatheia, addressed from Delirio rather generally to House Steel's smiths, architects and other assorted craftsmen. He demands that a temple be built for the old gods of Pigsburrow and their allied tribes. Cries of blasphemy abound, but nonetheless the construction is soon underway.
8/5/20 - Civil war breaks out in Empatheia. Supporters of the eleven rally and attack the palace of tusks, and Delirio calls upon favors from allies in northern clans to lock down the border.
8/6/20 - Delirio writes to Duke Lewis Graves and to Anubis of Order Custos about the conflict in progress, hoping to receive aid from them. Independently, he begins to form plans to retake his master's desecrated tomb.

Backstory summary
Long and long ago, in the days of the earliest dragons, a foul beast rose, fell, then rose again at the beck and call of a powerful warlock, fighting his battles for him. This necromantic cycle continued time and time again, and each time the beast came back more powerful and more clever than the last, feeding on the spells that returned the flesh to its battered bones and bade it to walk again, until one day the beast simply seemed to refuse to die. This creature, which had once been a careless featherback, had ascended to lichdom through repeated self-sacrifice and turned against its former master, who fled into Dragonhome to hide from it. In vengeful gluttony, the beast devoured the warlock and began ravaging the clans in the surrounding area, only to be returned to dust and sealed away by a female imperial. It was thought to have been destroyed, but its influence was not gone from Dragonhome.

In time, the beast regained some of its strength and began to appear in dreams to the local dragons. Isolation had only whetted its thirst for vengeance, but it had also made the beast quite lonely. Some hens down on their luck took a liking to the spirit, the way it reminisced to them, the knowledge it bestowed, and they began to pray to it, even bring offerings to places that were significant to it. One such offering was a beautiful blade, built from meteorite ore and citrine, and imbued with sentience by its creator. This blade would later become Delirio, though at the time its master's corruption had little hold over it. The beast whispered a vile spell into the sword, granting it a dragon's shape, but only at the cost of its free will. Delirio was a puppet and voice with which the beast could speak, and became its primary prophet. It sought, and fought, and toiled to help its master rise again, but ultimately failed in its mission mere moments from the would-be resurrection, due to the intervention of a descendant of the very same imperial which had sealed the featherback lich away.

Delirio appeared a few other times throughout the history of dragonkind, mostly in old wives' tales and as a symbol of fealty on the banners of some obscure warrior tribes, but he has been rather passive with the mortal beings of Sornieth, save for one small, cursed tribe in the far north. A few generations ago he expanded his efforts to parts of the abiding boneyard, where he at the time resided with and served what he believes to have been a lingering vessel of his master's whim.
