Achelis

Long after the clan left The Shifting Expanse, Nikia was contacted by an aquintance. A rainbow hematite had gained sentience. Nikia, interested in all things shiny and magic, decided to invite Achelis to the clan, and Achelis was more than happy to join them.

Achelis and another gem, an azurite, had gained sentience at the same time. It wasn't sudden at first, a rainbow hematite was just laying around in the drawer of a mage. Bit by bit, the rainbow hematite started absorbing more and more magical energy, until one fateful day, the mage opened her drawer, and the gem shattered into pieces, forming into the image of a dragon. The same happened in a different place at the same time.

Achelis was calm, she had gained sentience slowly enough for it not to overwhelm her. However, she was in some serious need for guidance. She didn't know how to be a dragon, she didn't even know how to be! Actually, she didn't know if she even wanted to be. Achelis grew quiet and bitter, resenting everyone around her. She did not ask for this, there are too many things she's supposed to know about culture and dragons and whatnot. Achelis might just need some time to herself, or things won't be pretty.

There was one like her, Azurite. Azurite seemed excitable and irresponsible for enjoying her new sentience and the responsibilities that came with being sentient. Achelis wanted to like her, she wanted to be her friend, she wanted to have someone, anyone to help her with her newfound sentience, but shecouldn't help but feel jealous towards Azurite and how she seemed to be able to enjoy life to the fullest as soon as she became a dragon. Achelis wanted none of this. None of this feelings and jealousy stuff.
