cj3TZ6T.png Lauren is the ship's historian and archivist; he collects artefacts and data from all the ship's adventures, often persuading the Captain to venture off course to explore an ancient ruin or monument. Most of the crew think these detours are a great way to pass the time, and are always willing to help Lauren find whatever it may be that he's looking for. How much they actually help varies considerably.

Right now, Lauren's on a mission to find and unlock an historic monument unlike any other, rumoured to house a dark and dangerous beast. He believes the beast may be the skeleton of an Ancient creature, since the Ancients have begun arriving in the modern world. He's even confident enough in his evidence to mark the Ancient as belonging to Shadow, though some findings imply it is from Light in equal mix.
Lauren is not shy, or anxious, or pitiful, but he used to be. Once upon a time, he was so shy he could barely speak. When he first boarded Taipip, he locked himself in his room, terrified of being forced to interact. It was only when history was brought up that he came out of his shell, and the crew learnt a lot about things well before their own times because they wanted him to join them.
Eventually, he began to regard the crew as a fresh start, a new family, a better life. Now, he still has trouble speaking with strangers, but with his family he is as loud and boisterous as they all hoped he could be, even flirting with his closest friend, the ancient robot 47. 		sgXUXAT.png
